Before making any judgement, I'd like to know what do you understand by "Polarized Politics".

Yes!
-Polarized politics means lack of tolerance for opposing views/beliefs turning democracy into a limited democracy or autocracy.
(like in Pakistan where government is coming hard on dissent and media)

-Polarized politics means politics exercised through the lens of identity politics where each identity plays a politics on the basis of zero sum game thereby making democracy non-inclusive.
(Like in Pakistan the wave of radical feminism or the politics by majority against the minorities)

-Polarized politics emanates from dynastic political framework making democracy non-participatory.
(Pakistan is replete with examples of dynastic politics)

-Next point that comes into my mind is that of penetration of post-modernism into the democratic framework. ( Here i cannot think of any example that pertains to Pakistan)

So all in all, I found the essay to be a difficult one to attempt because it was not just about democracy but to argue over the challenges faced by democracy due to polarization of politics.

I was short of arguments on this in exam.
