These are the answers to your questions, which i believe would help you. Of course seniors would also share their perspectives too. 1. Any essay which describes fully the related topic, does not have any grammatical mistakes, good handwriting, systematic in its approach and which could leave an impact on the one who is reading it. 2. Essay has nothing to do with length. No matter how lengthy you write but you don't have the right material and your essay lacks quality it won't earn you any marks. And your essay would definitely gain length if you have the relevant knowledge about that particular topic. so one shouldn't worry about the length. 3. Its the use of common sense, obviously the outline should be systematic, like introduction, causes, effects, remedies and conclusion is the basic outline of every essay...one would put in all the material, quotations, facts and figures, but they should be in a sequence. 4. The basic mistake is that they do not understand the topic fully and start attempting it. So, all the effort is wasted. Grammatical mistakes, Bad hand writing, again non-systematic approach. 5. First of all select a topic, attempt it, get it checked by any teacher. If any teacher is not available, then try to be your own teacher for a while (i believe one knows best where all the mistakes have been made after assessing it in depth.. and obviously the best guide CSS FORUM! You can post it here and seniors would definitely guide you). 6. Same as answer no.5 (You explore your weaknesses and make correction... this is an evaluation in its self) 7. There are basically 7-8 topics , like women, democracy, energy crisis, education, terrorism, good governance, global warming, food and water crisis.....some times phrases are given, but the point is every issue revolves around these topics mostly (check past papers), and especially the current issues, like in 2011 an essay was about disaster management. So you should be up to date which any css candidate is because of the preparation current affairs subject. 8. You are in the right section and here you can find many threads regarding assay topics and their outlines. Do a little searching plz. 9. There is no proper book of essay (i believe so, you can find many books for essay writing in any good book store in your area)... Essay writing needs vast knowledge about any topic, which could be achieved through reading and more reading... enhance your knowledge about any subject and written practice is a must.Get your essay checked by any teacher or seniors on this forum, you'll definitely get all the help and you'll improve with time. In the end, there is no substitute to hard work! Give it a start and you'll know with time that you have improved! All the best!
