GENDER EQUALITY IS A MYTH...is it?
Hi fellows please check out my essay outline that I attempted in CSS Essay 2013.
I attempted an essay on 'Gender Equality is a myth'. Some say that one should always carry the theme of the essay as regarded in the Essay Statement i.e. Gender Equality is a myth. Some say that if one challenge the essay statement meaning going against or taking a different stance and if proved with good arguments and discussions then it is preferred! My stance was against the original statement...It was that Gender equality might be considered as a myth by many but reforms and developments in various countries especially by our recent government has proven it to be a reality! Outline: Introduction Thesis Statement - (Hint given above) It was a combination of a fact and an opinion - as I wanted to be on a safe side and wanted to give an opinion too to assist my essay length! - What is gender equality? - Gender Equality and Religion + Reference to Islam/State of woman before and after Islam - Gender Equality and Society - Gender Equality and Western Countries - Gender Equality and Pakistan + In Pakistani society - Recent Developments in Pakistan + Benazir Income Support Program, Woman Bank, Minor Credits etc. + Woman in Government, Organisations and other roles. + Strategies adopted by government related to gender equality. + Third gender empowerment. - Recommendations in regards to gender equality + Women empowerment + Other genders Conclusion Above is the rough outline of my essay as I don't remember the exact. But roughly 15 outlines with sub variables. Please check this out and comments. Thanks |

Well, I disagree on certain points and appreciate your reply.
first. I think tOPIC is not Gender equality a myth in "PAKISTAN " You might have focused on Gender equality in the Present world: Efforts of UNO > Initiatives under UN Milliiuem development goals. 2, At the Top You have discussed Gender Equallty in "ISLAM" It totally deviates from the Notion. 3. Your Arguments sound as You are discussing "WOMEN EMPWERment" though Gender Equality is a branch of It, 4. Gender Equality Means "WOMEN RIghts , Liberties and Responisiblities" |

Thanks for your swift response...
I agree I have focused more about Pakistan...
I did mention the developments around the western world too...also did a comparative analysis of developments in the western world n in the eastern world specifically in Pakistan... Gender equality in Pakistan focus has always been focused around women...though recently some third gender development happened recently! but My essay was lengthy so cud not give all the details in the outline... Anyways Thanks...Appreciate it! |

Essay: Gender eqaulity is a myth
I attempted this essay and i assumed the concept here was about analyzing the statement true or false with adequate and proper arguments to justify your stance. I supported the statement that yes here in Pakistan we have a male chauvinist society with a patriarchal trend. Gender discrimination and inequality were my main themes of the essay.I am not sure whether i was able to relate the points with gender overall as my my stance was too much evolving around women issues in Pakistan.
I will really appreciate the response please kindly check my outline and point out my mistakes.thankyou =) OUTLINE: INTRODUCTION: Gender equality Myths and reality Pakistan a low ranked country in terms of gender equality Gender discrimination in Pakistan Male chauvinist society Women as target of male dominance Patriarchal trend in pakistan low percentage of participation on the bases of their gender CONCEPTS OF RURAL COMMUNITIES: gender selective abortions female infanticide deprived of education Domestic abuse Dowry abuse and bride burning cases honor killing,karo-kari,marriage with Quran Malala Yousef Zai case 9 oct 12 Sexual haressment Rape- worst form of violence against women Dehli student rape case- Joyti Singh 16 dec 12 Women trafficking Women treated as second class citizen WOMEN AS A POWERFUL ASSET OF A COUNTRY: Women in modern time Her role in society and family Women in light of ISLAM APPRECIABLE STEPS: Paving the way for gender equality: Feminist movements women empowerment ICONS: Benazir Bhutto, Hina Rabbani Kher, Sherry Rehman, Asma Jehangir Protection and prevention bills passed by Government for women Enhancing female education and awareness CONCLUSION: |

Brother gender equality does not mean "WOMEN Rights , Liberties and Responsibilities"
Gender is used for male and female both, so my suggestion is to take it in broader sense. secondly WOMEN Rights , Liberties and Responsibilities is Women Empowerment not gender equality. |

I think question was "Is gender equality a myth?" this question has no connection with Pakistan. you may discussed it as a case but this topic was global in nature, required broader spectrum.

Suggestions
I am sorry to say the outline made by you is irrelevant. This topic should be taken in a broader sense. You should talk globally, discuss it in the Western and Eastern perspective, shed light on various civilizations and all other hurdles that make gender equality a myth.
