Introduction:
Democracy is the most cherished form of government all over the world. It gives supreme regard to the will of people who consciously elect their representatives through a well-defined electoral process. However, democracy is a broad concept. It is more than mere elections and parliaments. Rather, it is a political setup where rule of law is valued more than anything else. In fact, it is a political culture where all segments of societies have alike socio-economic opportunities. Apart from these, an efficient judiciary who works effectively and independently for the betterment of people, portrays another significant characteristic of a pro-democratic polity. By and large, a country where democracy is a culture makes progress in almost every filed of life. While on the other hand, when the democracy is considered as a process only, the country becomes the object of plunder and loot. Disregard for the rule of law becomes the norm, despotic leaders rules the country and mighty suppresses the voice of the weak. All in all, politicians and public servants, instead of serving people, serve themselves. Eventually , country looks like nothing but, an abode where evilest of the evil resides. Therefore, democracy is a culture which like any other culture need to take deep roots in the value system of a nation, later on , truly manifested by behavior and actions.
