A meteor is the flash of light that we see in the night sky when a small chunk of interplanetary debris burns up as it passes through our atmosphere. "Meteor" refers to the flash of light caused by the debris, not the debris itself.

A meteoroid is a piece of interplanetary matter that is smaller than a kilometer and frequently only millimeters in size. Most meteoroids that enter the Earth's atmosphere are so small that they vaporize completely and never reach the planet's surface.

If any part of a meteoroid survives the fall through the atmosphere and lands on Earth, it is called a meteorite. Although the vast majority of meteorites are very small, their size can range from about a fraction of a gram (the size of a pebble) to 100 kilograms (220 lbs) or more (the size of a huge, life-destroying boulder).

Comets are asteroid-like objects covered with ice, methane, ammonia, and other compounds that develop a fuzzy, cloud-like shell called a coma and sometimes a visible tail whenever they orbit close to the Sun.

Mass of rock in space: a mass of rock in space, often a remnant of a comet, that becomes a meteor when it enters the Earth's atmosphere and a meteorite when it falls to Earth.

Dear Bro, first of all clear your mind of any previous definitions. Now Read This.

1- Meteoroid is any rocky body that is wandering in space out side. There are so many meteoroids outside Mars. That is called meteoroid belt.(Meteoroid: Khalai Pathar )
2- When any meteoroid enters Earth's atmosphere it burns out of friction and we see a bright moving spot creating a streak of light across. This is a meteor. (Shahabia)
3- If unfortunately the burning of meteor is not complete before it strikes Earth's surface it is called Meteorite.(Shahab e Saaqib).

As far as meteor is concerned people often takke one of its two meanings:
i- The fiery line that results from motion of burning body
ii- Burning body it self.

But in all the rest there is no ambiguity.
