In general science, we only have to cover the basic knowledge about human physiology for this the second book is good. The other book i am studying for the whole syllabus of general science is the "gale encyclopedia of science" Its pretty good.
Is gale's encyclopedia available in soft form? Kindly share the link please.

But after making concept I used to make my notes on firdous physiology for cramming as it was to the point. I had notes of one of the CSP's on this topics which were downloaded by me almost one and half year ago. I will try to find the link or will upload it and share the link very soon In Sha Allah.

There is no need to study from Guyton at all as medical students study it in two years time duration . Its very lengthy and no one is gonna treat any patients and no one will expect that kind of knowledge. Firdous is best.Go for it.
Thanks for sharing your valuable experience. Could you please review the topics above shared by Ma'am Azka, and if something is missing or you want to add to it something, please share that. I am only seeking the list of topics.

Note: Do that in your leisure time! So that it should not disturb or ruin your timetable, and my advantage(lol) is that you will read the topics attentively and will share with more details about the list of topics. #HonestSuggestion

Here are links of EDS notes by one of the CSP's in this forum Sir WEREWOLF and are pretty good. I my self have read these notes. Although subject name and syllabus has been changed but still you will find them useful as many of the topics are same.

Four links in total

http://www.mediafire.com/download/dj...o_page_141.pdf

http://www.mediafire.com/download/i2...o_page_295.pdf

And for topics like carbohydrates, lipids and proteins these notes are awesome. Enzymes are not included in these notes as they were not included in the previous syllabus. There is a concise book for bichemistry in market named Faiq's biochemistry it will be more than suffient for carbohydrates, enzymes, proteins and lipids.

Let me know the other portions.

I think she has covered all the systems.
Well there are six major systems
rest are their sub parts

1- Circulatory system
2-Excretory system
3-Respiratory system
4- Nervous system
5-Digestive system
6-Skeletal system

Histology is not included in physiology as it is sub part of anatomy and absolutely there is no need to study structures as there is a separate subject for structure Anatomy. Physiology is basically about the normal functions or systems of a human body. Just read which organs are included in the system and how it works. Do read some common associated diseases with these systems. No need of depth study as for depth study on disease basis there is a separate subject pathalogy.

That is very gracious of you.

I shall share my notes related to Human Physiology here in upcoming days. Just scrutinise them and mention if you notice something peculiar or insufficient. I hope that will be less time consuming for you, as I am certain that I will do justice regardless of my loathings for Biology.

EDS by Imtiaz Shahid covers almost every aspect of human physiology. There is no need to consult medical books for this purpose as the subject does not demand that kind of depth. Biology portion of this book is comprehensive and will serve your purpose well.

I have gone through both Guyton and Hall and Firdous handbook during my MBBS. I think it's better not to read these books for CSS, because Guyton is too lengthy and suitable for MBBS students. Whereas Firdaus is a handbook, covering lengthy topics in short space. It's even more difficult than Guyton if the student doesn't have prior medical background because it rushes to summarize topics without properly explaining them. No one can say that Firdaus is easier than Guyton. I would recommend you to buy Fsc part 1 and 2 biology books. All human physiology chapters are clearly explained; you can grip these with little effort. Also, there are not enough diagrams in firdaus to support the text.

Thanks a lot guys for your valuable suggestions. I am actually following A/O levels Biology for now. I do not have problem with the difficulty level of Biology, for I am taking full advantage of the doctors freely available around me all the time. Lol I am only concerned about its extend.

Thanks again for making many things lucid.
