No two questions are exactly the same even if their marks seem to suggest otherwise and hence, length of the answer varies from question to question.

Your best bet would be to write as much as you can WHILE KEEPING IN MIND that you have other questions to deal with, as well. In short, write as much as the time allows you to write - the only currency there is inside the examination hall is time, use it well.

Answer should be to the point no need of explanation, but only if asked. Draw a diagram if needed. This is not a matriculation examination where numbers are based on length not on content.

Curve out entire knowledge what you have in your mind and be relevant to the question. Comprehend it and make relevant diagrams etc. That would be more than enough. The problem is that mostly candidates write a lot but their write up do not not fulfill the requirements of the question hence, comprehend it, put relevant statistical data (if possible), make diagrams and keep question in mind while doing to do so. Your answer will be definitely appealing.
