Default Mathematical portion strategy

Guys I am thinking of going through the 8th class math book as someone I know told me that all questions in 2016 related to math can be solved if you have a command on 8th class mathematical concepts. In addition, I will also prepare all the concepts in Mian Shafiq book. Would that suffice? Really worried about this subject(mathematical portion), and missed questions worth 15 marks last time. So, any help would be appreciated.
