THE UNIVERSE


The Quran asking manking to submit to the guidence of Allah, the glorious, reminds man of the grandeur and awesome magnitude of the universe around us, God says:

1 indeed your lord is Allah who created heavens and Earth in 6 (Ayaam) periods (Younis 10,3)

2 Allah is the one who created skies and the earth and what is in between, in 6 (ayaam) periods.

3 Don't the unbelievers realize that the heavens and the earth were one piece, then we parted them and we made every thing of water. (Alambia 21,30)

4 He focussed His attention towards the skies that was a smoke. (Haameem, Alsajda 41,11)

in the light of these verses we can conclude that the universe did not come into being by accident but its organization, systematization, order, development, movement, dnamicism and evolution is based upon determination and will of God.
the creation and evolution of universe came gradually; the evolutionary process of the universe took place in 6 periods; the universe was made in the strata - nigher, lower and inter mediary.
Ibn-e-seena for the first time, explained moving, changing and developing state of the universe.

The Creation Process

According to the quranic theory of creation, all strata of the universe were one piece - one single block wihich was asundered and different parts were seperated and this process kept on expanding. God says:

Why don't the unbelieveres realise that heavens and earth were one piece then we parted them.

The Quranic words, "Ratq" and "Fatq" need special attention. Rataq means to fuse and blind together to make it a homogeneous mass and Fataq means an action to break, diffuse or separate. Modern cosmology has put forward the same idea in the form of Big Bang Theory. In 1965 two American scientists Aronpemaz and Robert Wilson discovered the principle of Rataq and Fataq, cosmic background radiations and proved that physical universe began from a single mass which they named minute cosmic egg. Minute Cosmic Egg is someting which was carrying tremondous energy. It burst into different strata of universe and later different glaxies were formed.

EXPLANATION

The Holy quran gives a dynamic view of the universe os God orders.

1 And He keeps creating what you dont know. (Al Nahla, 16, 8)

2 Everyday He has a matter to brong forth. (55,27)

3 And He keeps expanding in his creation what he wills (35,1)

Poet of the east, Dr Allama Iqbal, before discovery of Robert Williams has very aptly put in his lyric the universe is probably incomplete that hear every minute the sound of 'Kun', 'Fa yakoon'. The Doctor, further declares, To my mind nothing is more alien to the Quranic out look than the idea that the universe is the temporal working out of a pre-conceived plan.

PERIOD OF THE CREATION OF UNIVERSE

The concept of 'Youm' carries different meanings. In Surah Al Sajda, GOd says:
He is one who plans everything from earth to heavens and then every thing will reach him in a youm (Period) Equavalent to 1000 years in your calculation.

In Surah Al Meraj, GOd says:
It will happen at a time when angles and Jibrael will rise towards Him on a day equal to 50 thousand years.

The study of Holy quran makes us realise that the development of the universe took place in two steps. First is the stage before the appearence of life and second is stage after the appearence of life.

God says, He made seven skies in two periods and sent His orders.

God says, Do you deny the One who has created Earth in two periods.

The Holy Quran declares, that stage after appearence of life on earth is devided into four periods to which science terms as:
1 Proterozoic Era
2 Palaezonic Era
3 Mesozoic Era
4 Cainozoic Era

God declared in Sura Sajda, And He fixed heavy mountains from top and He put blessings (sources of sustenance) and He estimated sources of living in 4 periods.

NATURE OF SKIES

With reference to the creation and development of the universe it is interesting to note that the Quran has described the universe in a gaseous state in its early stage: It declares.
"And then He focussed His attention towards upper strata of universe and it was a smoke."

ORGIN OF CREATION

1 it is to be noted that before any thing in lower and upper strata of universe was created, there was water in every direction: God declares

2 And He is the one who created skies and earth in 6 periods and before that His domain was on water.

3 And we created everything from water, then why dont they believe.

DESTRUCTION OF THE UNIVERSE

according to the islamic ideology, the universe, earth, physical laws and heavenly bodies have a certain period of life. This theory has greated similarity with scientific cycle theory of the universe. After a certain period everything will be changed, new laws will come into being.

God says,
1 Yes when earth will be made to collide, and shattered into pieces
2 When skies will burst asunder.
3 When the stars have fallen and scattered
4 And When seas are burst
5 And when graves and turned upside and down
6 When the sun would lose its light.
7 When the mountains shall be made to pass away.
8 And when pregnent She camel will be neglected
9 It will be day when mankind will be like moths scattered about.
10 When earth is shaken, with its final earth quake
11 And the wild beasts shall be gathered together.
12 And when the sea will become a blazing fire.
