Revised Number of Moons (Correction in all textbooks)
Please correct the number of moons. Almost all EDS books are (hopefully all Pakistani books) presenting outdated material in this regard.
Mercury _______ 0 Venus _________0 Earth__________1 Mars__________2 Jupiter_________67 Saturn_________62 Uranus_________27 Neptune________14 Pluto___________5 |
Natural Satelites
Mercury = 0
Venus = 0 Earth = 1 Mars = 2 Jupiter = 63 Saturn = 62 Uranus = 27 Neptune = 13 And about Pluto I read a couple of articles stating that it is reclassified as a planet but didn't have any authentic source yet so I am not sure about Pluto but anyways it have 5 moons. |

However, it had been given a status of dwarf planet along with Eris, Ceres.
I am still doubtful about Pluto being a Dwarf Planet or a planet. This happens two times before and once again it is classified as a Planet now. And from Competitive Exam perspective maybe they take Pluto as a Planet or Dwarf Planet and maybe they asks why the astronomers are so confused about Pluto that for two times they have classified it as a Dwarf Planet and once again they have reverted their decision? References: http://www.sciencealert.com.au/news/...9-26255-2.html http://www.theguardian.com/science/s...to-planet-size Astronomers have now analyzed methane in Pluto’s air. And yeah Pluto has an atmosphere—again, pretty impressive for something that’s supposedly not a planet. And We’ll exactly find out in July 2015, when NASA’s first spacecraft to Pluto zips by. Pluto will be taken as moon...At least in perspective of CSS exam And I am sure about this that Pluto is not a moon. :nono |
