Default Why water remains cool in earthenware pitcher ?

As we know that evapuration causes coolness and by inspecting the surface of earthenware pitcher we can notice it has lot of pores in it, so it being porous allows the water molecules to escape through it that is evaporation.
Hence water remains cool.
