  • It moves eastwards with the speed of 2100 miles per hour
  • Only 59% of moon surface can be seen from earth.
  • Moon’s surface is filled with crater due to non-existence of atmosphere which let meteorites come down and strike the moon surface.

THE SUN

  • Contains 99.86 % mass of solar system
  • Source of energy is nuclear fusion – conversion of hydrogen into helium
  • The surface of the sun is 4.6 billion years of age.
  • The surface temperature of the sun is 6000 C while the temperature at the center is 15 million C (Photosphere & Chromospheres)
