Question Advice for methodology of preparation & answer pattern in regards to Islamic Studies

Hi,

In preparation for the subject of Islamiat, I am consulting the following three books:

1. Islam and it's meaning and message by Khurshid Ahmad.
2. Towards Islamiat by Dogar publishers.
3. To the point Islamic Studies by Jahangir.

Queries:

1. Are these three books enough to sufficiently prepare for the compulsory subject?

2. What is the best way to 'mould' an answer? One should directly tackle the main question or build upto it i.e For answering a query related to Ijtehad, one starts off with an introduction of all basic sources of law and then leads to Ijtehad followed by a general conclusion with a few lines specified towards the question? As I have heard that averageness in answering technique might reduce marks.

3. How important are quoted Ayats and Hadiths? And how many one should quote per page? I am really worried about this cause I am not good at quoting.

4. If the exam is attempted in English, is there any setback and should one be wary of some things in particular?

I would appreciate direct answers to the first 3 as they are the most important ones, also only by people who have attempted the exam and had a formula for the english version of it.

Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

DEAR,
you need to prepare according to the question style being asked; the book that make you able to answer previous years questions is best.

As for as i suggest, one should answer to the point, giving very short context if necessary by including only main points and then briefly explaining the point being asked.
In case of ijtehad one can start directly by just saying that it is the third source of Muslim Law, the other two being QURAAN and HADITH.
Then defining it and explaining it briefly.
Ijtehad itself have dimensions that needs to be explained; like, what is the nature of ijtehad?
how is it done?
What are its implications?
why is it necessary in modern world?
and so on...

3. How important are quoted Ayats and Hadiths? And how many one should quote per page? I am really worried about this cause I am not good at quoting.

Quoting Ayahs and Ahadiths is not compulsory Unless you are asked to Answer with reference to Quran and Hadith.

4. If the exam is attempted in English, is there any setback and should one be wary of some things in particular?

It depends on your ability to Answer easily in Urdu or English.
The language which makes you to defend better is best to achieve high marks.

ALL these are my Observations; and further guidance can be sought from other members of the forum.

Your answers are much appreciated. About the books what i meant to ask was whether these are generally the books used, as in either the given material is sufficient or not. So that I dont have to spend more time looking for online material. E.g For The sources of law topic I found some notes that quoted atleast four more sources above and beyond the basic 5 (uptil Qiyaas).

Within one or two weeks, after completing Islamiat. I'll share the strategy for its preparation with sole focus on recommended books guaranteeing, at least, passing marks.
