Its upto you in which language you have read this subject and feel easy to explain. Normally when you go through by English, you are free to quote any ayah or hadees in your own words and if you give reference it will be a plus point otherwise its acceptable without reference. On the other hand, you have to put exact ayah nd hadees with ref. There are many hurdles for an aspirant belongs to urdu background for memorizing new terminologies, like me. 😌

well, choose the medium in which you have studied Islamiyat till graduation. I opted it in urdu and scored 67. If you don't know exact reference, just write "Al-Quran" in brackets.

This topic has already repeatedly been discussed. The crux of the discussion is that one should opt the medium through which one can explain one's answer in a befitting manner. I personally tried both the mediums and scored better when i attempted the paper in English. However, there were obvious personal reasons behind scoring better when I attempted in English.
  • My Urdu handwriting is very pathetic .
My Urdu Handwriting is very slow and you know where one has to attempt four questions in remaining papers , in Islamiat one has to answer five questions.
The time I attempted in Islamiat in english that year the objective part was very easy .
So , if you have prepared the paper well and you dont have the issues i had , you may go with English. Whether , you go with English or Urdu , you will get same treatment from the examiner.
The one liner answer is that its not medium which has to determine your marks, but your answer and your presentation have to be rewarded.

I opted islamiyat thrice in urdu and still regret. I had no issue with urdu as i had urdu amongst my optionals but islamiyat paper always cover topics related to contemporary issues those can be interpreted in English more precisely. During css preps. One is more familiar with english than urdu hence converting your mind towards urdu for a single paper is too hard. I remember struggling for urdu transalation of english words that i had in mind about the question been asked. That's why english would be a perfect choice.
