Islamic studies in Urdu or in English?
I am super confused about attempting Islamic studies either in Urdu or in English ? Seniors please guide me in this regard. Personally I am inclined to take it in Urdu but some seniors say that taking it English might fetch me more marks, is that true ?

2. I have different Islamic books in Urdu at my home, if I needed extra help. 3. I am more inclined towards attempting questions regarding basic concepts (which I have studied in Urdu during school years) rather than current affairs. With a little more preparation one can easily attempt it in English. I am just saving that extra time because I already have time consuming optionals like IR, Sociology and a history subject. |

It doesn't matter if you attempt Islamiat paper in Urdu or English. Plus point to go for English is that you have 11 subjects which are in English and you already have the pace in English writing. I think there is no other difference.
and if you attempt in Urdu, it would be easy for remembering ayat and ahadees, because verses should be copied exactly. lastly, examiners will never give marks on attempting the paper in English or in urdu. As, FPSC has given this option. rest is upon you thanks |

Most of the people adopt Islamiyat in English because they have writing practice in English as all other subjects are in English, but the fact is that Urdu gives more marks as compared to English.

Hi Kashif,
Though both mediums are good for Islamiyat but I prefer Urdu for a reason. As we quote verses and hadiths, we spend more time in thinking peculiar words for quoting the translation of the verses. But with the Urdu language, we don't face such difficulty and fluently we can attempt all the questions. We gain marks by our systematic and comprehensive approach to the topic, not by the language. Hope it helps. All the best. Thanks |
