The first thing is to note all the happenings in this world related to islam. french and spanish ban on burqa was a hot topic during august and september 2010 and so it came.. similarly in oklahoma state of usa there was a ban on imposition of sharia law and there was furore against stoning of sakineh in iran....( so the question came that what is the concept of islamic punishment?) for the burqa too the question came ....another major impediment in solving the paper is that students must get their basic concepts right about islam.

a simple example can clear this ambiguity.
is burqa/hijab against emancipation/freedom of women?

no it is not. to prove this one has to give the concept of freedom itself. i described it as ...that while we are driving in the mountainous range there are barricades on one end of the road to prevent us from falling down. now do we claim that someone has infringed our liberty? no certainly not. in fact by placing the barricade our freedom has been protected. because if the person falls in the valley he would be dead and a dead person would have no freedom.
now this concept of freedom was understood by me after reading the book "islam its meaning and message" by prof. khurshid . i used this concept is the above mentioned question. so a thorough reading of the book plus reading newspaper is suffice. although i do not know my marks right now:P...but i think i was able to perform well!

@aariz, soloflyer has rightly described the ingredients of the 1-2 questions, which can come in the Islamiat paper. You can go through past papers only 1-2(or less) questions regarding current affairs have been asked each year.

Now make sure that you complete your rest of the Islamic studies preparation.

which includes
1) MCQs
2) 5-6 subjective type questions.

if you need any comprehensive book name.pls do ask

Good luck..

Follwoing material is very helpful in attempting Islamiat paper in present situation

1. CSS solved papers By Asif Malik, This book is available in lahore.

2. Top 20 questions by jahangir Afshan manzoor CSP

3. CSS Guide By Doger Unique

4. Book of sohail Bhatti

5. Notes of Sir Col. Zahoor ul Haq

Method of prepration;

Now it is ur techniques which help u in high scoring.
No need to study all books. U prepare according to syllabus.
U should separate questions of each category.
Make files of each category. Also make short keys. These will b very helpful in revision.

Make headings sub headings. Color of heading should b different from main stuff.

U make files like;

1. Basic Beliefs

2. Pillers of islam

3. Social system

4. Political system

and other questions

Thanks for ur nice suggestion
I want to take Pashto, IR, Sociology, Journalism and economics.
What do u think about economics. Is it lengthy and tough subject.
I don,t have any background of economics and if i select it then i have to prepare it from the beginning.
What is your nice suggestion.

@allah dad khan

Dear Pashtu, Journalism and sociology r good option. As u dont have background of economics, so u dont opt it. In my view, I.R is also not a good option.

U can consider following subjects;

Geography, Psychology, US History, Muslim Law, Int. Law, Indo-Pak history, Islamic history

U should mention subjects of ur choice so that i could recomend u favourable subjects.
