Question Quoting Quranic Verses in paper

In islamic studies paper, can one quote Quran verse by mentioning only al-quran, at the end of the verse. ( a standard in few Islamic Studies books in english ).... or writing exact surah and verse no is a must ?

You mean 'Verse' I guess. It appears a typo. Mods are requested to kindly rectify it.

As for your question bro, I think mentioning Chapter No. and Verse number is better than simply putting Al-Quran at the end. By mentioning the exact chapter no. and verse no. you are showing that you have yourself read that verse and have understood it. More or less, we hear verses, remember them and reproduce them in our papers. This is good but for only such verses that are very commonly known to all. For example, in Qur'an at several places Allah Almighty orders to offer the prayers and pay the Zakaat. Now with such a verse, you might not need to mention the chapter and verse number. For specific verses like that on Jihad, Hudud, Rights of Men, etc. you should mention the exact number.

Regards

Do we need to quote Quranic verses in Arabic or we can simply quote their translation in Urdu mentioning the surah and verse number ? I am actually bad at cramming arabic verses to such extent that in one hour i can just cramm two lines verse but contrarily a whole new topic can be learned in this time.
