It states physical and spiritual peace for a man and can only be through complete submission of his will to all mighty Allah. Islam is a universal religion and followers of Islam are called Muslims.

Basic Concept of Islam:
Islam is a religion whose base depends on a man totally submitted to all mighty Allah. The submission in a sense that the person would follow the teachings of Allah which Allah has sent for human being through his messengers. Islam is the first most religion on the earth which start from the advent of Hazrat Adam(AS).Islam completed its overall features in Muhammad(PBUM) period.
Islam in its basic sense would mean recognizing Allah as the one and only one ruler of this universe and every thing in this universe is created by him and Islam is the code of life given by Allah to the people on earth and prophets are the messengers of Allah which are sent for the humans so they can know the true path of Islam.

Islam is not a new religion started in Muhammad (PBUM) time but is a religion of all the times , from Adam(AS) and passing through other prophets to the final prophet Muhammad(PBUM). In Muhammad(PBUM) time Islam reached its compete shape and Allah states in Quran that Islam is the only true religion.

In Islam submission to Allah does not means that a person should submit it self according to his own understanding but indeed is that submission or obedience must be according to the message of Allah which he has revealed through prophets.

Prophets of Allah came in this universe at different times and on different places but the religion that they preach was Islam . The rules and obligations were different for different times because the teachings were for the specific times and when new apostel came the previous teachings became null and void but after the last prophet Muhammad(PBUM) the Islam reached it complete hight and then Islam became the religion for all the people on earth for that time and the times which have to come.

As the prophets came in different time and brought the divine teachings with them but after there death people put changes to the teachings and created a separator religion for them. All these religion like Judaism , Christianity were created after the death of their preaching prophets and people put modification to the real message of Islam and created religions.
