Why not simply go through a Pakistan Affairs (Ikram Rabbani kind) book and prepare the important topics referring to 2-3 more books?

Thumbs up

I don't think any single book is going to cater the needs specifically. So, multidimensional approach should be followed to cover the syllabus of at least compulsory subjects. There are 8-10 traditional topics which can easily be covered from Ikram Rabbani's book, or Trek to Pakistan or from any other book. But the remaining topics are like current affairs for which Net-surfing is good. There is a book 'Pakistan and World Affairs' by Shamshad Ahmad published by Jahangir Publishers. I think this book can be really handy for Pak Affairs as well as Current Affairs. So, have a look of this Book.

No need to read whole syllabus, because 60 percent course is same like last year, we just need to focus on hot topics, because PA has become CA paper now. Daily dawn reader, can attempt such paper to the level of perfection, further you just need to read the backgrounds of the issues.

I'm not sure about it, although I've seen some notes of the CSS passed candidates who had written and used verses of Iqbal in Persian or Urdu. I'm not good at quoting verses, so I never thought about this option and so not sure.
I hope that some other fellow will answer this question with a solid reason.

In order to crack pakistan affairs new syllabus, i would suggest you make an all-out effort. One book cannot be sufficient or good enough because the topics are of current affairs in nature and a book can give you just raw material thus, lacking up-to-date information and critical analysis. Try read magazines, newspapers etc and make your own notes that can benefit you in current affairs and a bit in essay as well. Imtiaz shahid's quarterly book on current affairs, magazines like current affairs digest by dr safdar mahmood, the economist, press review, world times, dawn newspape,r internet , etc can be helpful.
