hello everyone, there have been a lot of posts about the books that one can use for preparation of Pakistan Affairs but i don't yet have a clear idea about which book should i choose, i have read "Pakistan beyond the crisis state" which is a very good read but i don't think that it is designed for PA course but it is a good book for opinion building. Now since i have read a few posts i am consulting a "Pakistan Affairs by Ikram Rabbani" and a book by "I H Qureshi", there is also a book named "Making sense of Pakistans" which is in the recommended books by the FPSC but if the seniors can please help and tell me what other books should i have or read (I do read regular news paper and current affairs to keep myself updated) but if someone would kindly recommend any other books on PA i would be very thankful.

Can the seniors please reply to the query above. The paper seems to be following a more current trend lately. Can someone please guide us as to where we can prepare the more recent and relevant stuff from. One more thing, I would advise against consulting Rabbani's book, its a complete waste of time.

Brother, consult that book book for PA, which covers almost all the topics of syllabus mentioned in the curriculum.

I know you want the "best there is" for your studies, thing is no such book exists. It might sound strange but hear me out: it doesn't matter which book you prepare from as long as you are covering the whole syllabus. Instead of getting prescribed books (which only contain two or three topics from syllabus) get books specially designed to cover all the syllabus.

CSS is not about the books you choose, it is about what you do with the knowledge you have - irrespective of where you got it from.

Another major problem that one can encounter during his reliance on Ikram Rabbani, is that, although, it is claimed in the Front page that it is Feb 2018 edition, and a lot of material has been presented in the preface highlighting as to what efforts did the author has to make in order to come up with this masterpiece, and YET it has failed miserably to produce an up-to-date information on many topics, which in my opinion is not only a criminal and deliberate negligence on part of the author but an explicit attempt to misguide the readers. For instance, while studying the relations of Pakistan with other countries, one can observe that it has failed to discuss anything after 2004. In water problems of the country, it has even discussed the surveys of 90's. In SAARC and SCO, it has again failed miserably to produce anything after 2004.

Well the Pakistan affairs books are any other books that are not the exact materials that would be in the papers you need to just get idea would be like ..
