Exclamation SHIMLA agreement

respected members the purpose of appending this piece of writing is to make you cognisant of shimla agreement nudging you towards the hatred and alienation which the indians proudly nurture against pakistan.First the actual agreement then edited. edition was made by indian.

Shimla Agreement

July 3, 1972

The Government of India and the Government of Pakistan are resolved that the two countries put an end to the conflict and confrontation that have hitherto marred their relations and work for the promotion of a friendly and harmonious relationship and the establishment of durable peace in the sub-continent, so that both countries may henceforth devote their resources and energies to the pressing task of advancing the welfare of their people

In order to achieve this objective, the Government of India and the Government of Pakistan have agreed as follows :-

1. That the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations shall govern the relations between the two countries

2. That the two countries are resolved to settle their differences by peaceful means through bilateral negotiations or by any other peaceful means mutually agreed upon between them. Pending the final settlement of any of the problems between the two countries, neither side shall unilaterally alter the situation and both shall prevent the organisation, assistance or encouragement of any acts detrimental to the maintenance of peaceful and harmonious relations.
3. That the pre-requisite for reconciliation, good neighbourliness and durable peace between them is a commitment by both the countries to peaceful co-existence, respect for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs, on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
4. That the basic issues and causes of conflict which have bedevilled the relations between the two countries for the last 25 years shall be resolved by peaceful means
5. That they shall always respect each other’s national unity, territorial integrity, political independence and sovereign equality ;

6. That in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, they will refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of each other
Both Governments will take all steps within their power to prevent hostile propaganda directed against each other. Both countries will encourage the dissemination of such information as would promote the development of
friendly relations between them

In order to progressively to restore and normalise relations between the two countries step by step, it was agreed that :

1. Steps shall be taken to resume communications, postal, telegraphic, sea, land including border, posts and air links including over-flights

2. Appropriate steps shall be taken promote travel facilities for the nationals of the other country
3. Trade and co-operation in economic and other agreed fields will be resumed as far as possible.

4. Exchange in the fields of science and culture will be promoted
In this connection delegations from the two countries will meet from time to time to work out the necessary details
In order to initiate the process of the establishment of durable peace, both the Governments agree that :

1. Indian and Pakistani forces shall be withdrawn to their side of the international border
2. In Jammu and Kashmir, the line of control resulting from the cease-fire of December 17, 1971, shall be respected by both sides without prejudice to the recognised position of either side. Neither side shall seek to alter it unilaterally, irrespective of mutual differences and legal interpretations. Both sides further undertake to refrain from the threat or the use of force in violation of this line.

3. The withdrawals shall commence upon entry into force of this agreement and shall be completed within a period of 30 days thereof.

This agreement will be subject to ratification by both countries in accordance with their respective constitutional procedure and will come into force with effect from the date on which the instruments of ratification are exchanged.

Both Governments agree that their respective heads will meet again at a mutually convenient time in the future and that in the meanwhile the representatives of the two sides will meet to discuss further the modalities and arrangements for the establishment of durable peace and normalisation of relations, including the questions of repatriation of prisoners of war and civilian interness, a final settlement of Jammu and Kashmir and the resumption of diplomatic relations.

My commentary will be in square brackets - i.e. [Remember that this is being signed by two countries - one emphatically victorious - and another thoroughly beaten.] )

Shimla Agreement

July 3, 1972

The Government of India and the Government of Pakistan are resolved that the two countries put an end to the conflict and confrontation that have hitherto marred their relations and work for the promotion of a friendly and harmonious relationship and the establishment of durable peace in the sub-continent, so that both countries may henceforth devote their resources and energies to the pressing task of advancing the welfare of their people.

[The times change, the rhetoric remains. Only the thoroughly duped would imagine that the 'conflict and confrontation' in Indo-Pak relations could ever be ended without the elimination of one of the two countries. Sadly in 1971, we could have indeed ended such acrimony by ending Pakistan.. but let's move on.]

In order to achieve this objective, the Government of India and the Government of Pakistan have agreed as follows :-

1. That the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations shall govern the relations between the two countries.

[The wretched United Nothing Organization treats India on par with Albania and Uruguay - and we still pay our respects to it! Shameful - but let's go on ...]

[Obviously the Pakistanis understood that this clause was a sick joke - and frankly speaking, thirty years on, our differences have not been settled by peaceful means - because they cannot be.]

3. That the pre-requisite for reconciliation, good neighbourliness and durable peace between them is a commitment by both the countries to peaceful co-existence, respect for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs, on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.

[God knows what equality can exist between a bandit state built on genocide and the ancient Hindu homeland - but let's press on.]

4. That the basic issues and causes of conflict which have bedevilled the relations between the two countries for the last 25 years shall be resolved by peaceful means ;

[Hasn't happened for the next thirty-five years.]

5. That they shall always respect each other’s national unity, territorial integrity, political independence and sovereign equality ;

[Time to laugh.]

6. That in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, they will refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of each other.

[Why did we ever agree to this, given that we were in a perfect position to use the threat of force to squeeze Pakistan in 1972?]

Both Governments will take all steps within their power to prevent hostile propaganda directed against each other. Both countries will encourage the dissemination of such information as would promote the development of
friendly relations between them.

[Obviously the Pakistanis did not take any of this seriously.]

In order to progressively to restore and normalise relations between the two countries step by step, it was agreed that :

1. Steps shall be taken to resume communications, postal, telegraphic, sea, land including border, posts and air links including over-flights.

[Clearly, Indira was as intent on 'peace processes' as Hajpayee.]

2. Appropriate steps shall be taken promote travel facilities for the nationals of the other country.

[Ditto]

3. Trade and co-operation in economic and other agreed fields will be resumed as far as possible.

[Sound familiar?]

4. Exchange in the fields of science and culture will be promoted.

[Pakistan has neither science nor culture, so this clause is void anyway.]

In this connection delegations from the two countries will meet from time to time to work out the necessary details.

In order to initiate the process of the establishment of durable peace, both the Governments agree that :

[durable?]

1. Indian and Pakistani forces shall be withdrawn to their side of the international border.

[Translation: Indian forces will be withdrawn.]

[The less said about this paragraph, the better.]

[Well, what can I say? This is what Mrs. Indira Gandhi signed on behalf of India. You tell me whether the Russians, or the Americans or the Chinese, or the Japanese or the Israelis or the Nigerians or the Ethiopians would accept such a treaty after soundly defeating a neighbouring country and taking 90,000 POWs? The blame for this shameful squander of our military's achievements rests squarely on the Congress criminals - particularly the tyrant Indira Gandhi.]

this piece of writing clearly depicts the mindset of indians. i am not asking you to retaliate but you must learn something. while woolgathering in india sites i daily find hundreds of posts like this.
