I collected material from different sources. But after taking exam, i went through a book Military and Politics of Pakistan by Dr. Hassan Askari Rizvi (Book has also been recommended by FPSC for pak-affairs). It is a fantastic book and covers every thing from 1947 to 1990s. Moreover, many of the objectives came from this book. So after taking exam i thought, i should have gone through this book.

no book is specific for pak affairs. each year you have different sort of questions

Pak affairs is a low scoring subject due to this one reason that every year book from which one can answer changes.

with muslim perspective can we write british view on pre-independant period ?

i dont agree....here
there may be few exceptions.....aprt from those mistakes......i m sure abt it that AKRAM RABBANI is a prominent figure in giving details in his buk for pak affairs.....his buk cvrz almmost everything....even few students call him authority on it as you have to tear the heart out for yourself out of lot a topics den u must know how tuff job is it.....i dont agree.....ppl may disagree.....but his buuk is among few very gud books

Do we need to prepare for Pakistan Affairs? Shouldn't we be well versed in it without formal prepartion even?

yes u need to prepare it with special attention due to few reasons

y is it low scoring due to.....Historical events like minto morely,khilafat,14 points n nehru etc.....there context can not be changed.....it will be as par the knwldg proficiency wt v r studying since childhood....so students who can not differentiate their presentations.....examiner gets bored n he dznt find any amelioration in ur paper......so he goes with trendy 40s n 50s marks.....
Difference is wt u ll create n for that you have to put yoiour personal and intellectual expression combined with quotes verses sayings reference s n allusions which wud be a clear semblance for examiner that he/she had seriosly got the crux of the materioal......

so all it takes is .....it is most easy subject to prepare but most difficult to attempt.....Keeep it mind

Let me give you Guys another interesting news......Ikram Rabbani's book has been copied by many Css buk writers.....e.g Jahangir series......Azmat Faruq has exactly reproduced the 14 points topic of quaid......now ppl ll argue that how one cud change 14 points...but m saying he has even copied his background paragraphs conclusions sentiments.....n few more writers i ve also observed they have pasted as it is written in Rabbani's buk

Dear, this books mainly deals with the influence of military in the politics of Pakistan from 1947-1997. though the series of events is discussed it however, the main theme is linked to the army.

You are right bhaya but this book is worth reading and I would surely recommend all of guys to go through it at least once in your preparation. Your concepts will be crystal clear and you can get additional golden points to decorate your paper with solid and impressive points.

Sure you can. Amubarak, a member of this forum and CTP 37, scored 65 marks in Pakistan Affairs. She prepared the subject from Ikram Rabbani's book only. Now if one can score such high marks in PA then surely one can score hell in Indo-Pak paper 2 which is relatively much easier.

cheers,
floydian
