Problems of industrialization in Pakistan.

What are the problems of industrialization in Pakistan? Would anyone bother to write a brief outline for me? 'Industrialization'... does that mean the process of making the country industrial?

I feel this issue is better included in sociology.
because when we say problems of industrialization, it often means the bad effects of industrialization on society.

Or may be you want to know about the hindrances of industrialization in Pakistan.
If studied from society's point of view, this will include something else and if seen from its bad effects on Pakistan economy and other related things (if some one thinks there are any) then the contents may change.

Please elaborate a little bit more so that I may try to brainstorm some of the points n ideas.
Regards.

It was a question in Pak Affairs 2002 exam.

Q. What are the problems of industrialization in Pakistan? How they can be solved?

I also thought the same that problems of industrialization would be bad effects like Rise in pollution, increased urbanization, rural-urban disparity etc.

But I want to comprehend the question properly.. don't want to follow my guesses.. so I posted it for guidance from others.

Yes you are right. this would include such things.
over crowding of cities, pollution, health issues (because of pollutiion and stress as well)
I just checked.
"Problems of industrialization" or "problems of industrialization in Pakistan" there are good points and you may discuss those in exams safely.

In my thinking the question is asking about the problems faced by industries in Pakistan over time. Question is not about the problems caused by industrialization in Pakistan. So one can answer this question in context of industrial development in Pakistan.

A rough outline would be:

1. Power shortage
2. Lack of trained manpower
3. Lack of proper infrastructure
4. Inefficieny
5. Lack of products innovation resulting in concentration of industries in some specific sectors.
6. Changing political and economic policies
7. Bad law and order situation resulting in lower investment in industries
8. Corruption in related government agencies and so many govt. agencies intervention
9. Higher interest rate

These are some of the problems, being faced by industries in Pakistan. One can include more points to the list.

Regards

Technically It feels so that they wanted to ask the problems faced by industry, but grammatically it means other wise (problems created by industrialization)

how ever as in recent times Industry is facing problem and not causing its. (so the first case seems true)

Can you please clarify whether regressive tax is a negative practice or progressive taxation system?

when we talk about the common society then surely regressive taxation system is the negative practice taking in view the common people.
