Prepration Strategy of Pakistan Affairs?
 

Hello Fellows,

After alot of examination from this forum i have selected 3-4 books on Pakistan Affairs. I am yet to start the preparation of any subjects (optionals Or Compulsory). I want to take advice from you people regarding the preparation strategy.

Alot of people recommend going through the past papers and preparing the important questions first and then coming to other topics? So should i follow the same in this paper? Secondly, this paper is not very scoring (if we look at the statistics). Most of the people say that since candidates do not study thoroughly and consult very few resources, thats the reason. I want to ask that how can we achieve higher marks in this subject? Any specific method to answer? Thirdly, the importance of notes. I have posted similar questions in the other subjects forum as well and asked this that should i make notes ?? Like consulting from 3 -4 books about 1 topic and writing it all in one place ???
People have recommended not to make notes for EDS and just taking short notes for Current Affairs... what about this subject (PA).. Lastly, how much time is required to prepare this subject fully....

So what i am asking is

1. Where to start? Should i consult the past papers, list important questions and prepare them and then come to other topics or should i go topic wise first and come to past papers in the end?

REPLY:
1) Do write notes after reading 3 or 4 books of Pakistan affair. You are right, Pak affair has been low scoring but good score can be achieved.
2) Yes, study the subject after going thru the past papers. This pattern will let you know the different types of questioning regarding a particular topic of the subject. A topic may be asked in different ways.
3) For pak affair, if you study 6 hours daily, you may finish this subject within 25 days. 6 hours mean sincerely invested six hours.
4) EDS does not require to write notes. Just memorize and memorize.
5) How to score high? Relevant material with sound knowledge.
6) Pak affair preparation now needs also newspapers. Be update with pak's current affairs.
7) Dont go for important questions. Read thoroughly. Comprehensive study assures good score.:))
8) CSS study strategy depends on your efficiency which u get by giving minimum time and getting maximum study benefit.
9) Chalk out a time table and stick to it. First cover compulsory subjects
