Default Vision of Pakistan in the year 2011.

Given the problems that Pakistan is facing today, what is your vision of Pakistan in the year 2011? How, in your opinion, can be its internal and external problems solved?

Dear members this was a question of Pakistan affairs-2011. What should, in your opinion,be solution of this question? I think this was an open-ended question and covers vast areas. The challenge lies in controlling the answer. So plz discuss it.

[QUOTE]

Pakistan is a much resiliant nation, faced with many of the challenges created by both the nature and the man, but always bounced back. A wide range of reforms needed, if the country wants to emerge as a progressive nation.

PROBLEMS OF PAKISTAN

currently pakistan is facing a wave of severe militancy, political instability, economic and power crisis, mismanagement and bad governance and marginalization and bad image at international level. all this may continue in 2011 as well.

VISION FOR 2011

Pakistan is on the cross roads, having well awared civil society, vibrant media, independent judiciary and an emergin political will, from where it can take either the course - progress or same old appraoch.

HOW TO DEAL WITH CHALLENGES

All problems of pakistan are integrated which means a comprehensive, well coordinated and well conected solution mechanism.

- to reduce militancy pakistan should constitute a high power war on terror council with budgetary, evaluation and monitoring powers ..............

- to end political instability, pakistani leaders must end old appraoch of seeking help from outside powers - US or military. civil military imbalance needs to be ended...........

- governance defecit must be reduced. basic services - health, education, justice and land record - should be provided at door step which means devolution of powers. civil service must be reformed. intitutions of restrain - judiciary, NAB, media, AG, FPSC - must be empowered and strengthened, ..............

- economic dependence must be end. tax net to be enhanced. tax evasion be tackled ..........

- to end marginalization at international level, our policy on war on terror must be approved and backed by parliament, end to two-way looking policy, improve relation with all neighbours, revamp foreign policy .......

- to tackle bad image at international level, improve image of talented pakistanis - nusrat, edhi, cricketers - on international level........
