Personality of Allama Iqbal

what do u think about personality of Allama Iqbal? During his life, apart from his Philosophical poetry and as a leader of nation, he faced many allegations one of the most famous allegation is that he murdered a women, but there is two school of thoughts, one is in favor but one said its just a political issue at that time ... whats your opinion?

yes i have also heard about it but have not found any empirical evidence regarding this issue. he was a great man indeed and undoubtedly the greatest poet of his genre. no one is exempt from mistakes as to err is human but he was never alleged of such acts as far as my poor knowledge is concerned......

actually once a Dr. Professor in Iqbaliyat came in our college (Army Public college sialkot). he delivered a lecture there on Allama iqbal after his lecture, during Q&A session, one of our teacher Ms. Umera ahmed (great novelist and drama writer now a days) asked a question that iqbal killed a women in his life and that Prof. answered in yes, but he told that no strong evidence was found but some history writer pointed out these, but some said it is politicized drama at that time because iqbal was also a politician.
I try to confirm now on my own, but did'nt found strong evidence.

yes i told u that i have also heard about it.. i heard that when he was in college he killed someone (be it a male or female) and his friends called his proxy in the class.... when his roll call record was checked he was marked present in the class at the time of murder so he was free from the allegations... it seems somewhat funny, i have also read many books written on iqbal both by his followers and critiques.... but found no evidence of this incident

Well,I'm not too sure about the veracity of these allegations leveled against the most revered of the Muslim poet in the world. however here is an excerpt from an article/blog that endorses/shows that he had commited a murder of a tawaif;
Allama Iqbal was unabashedly called a “kafir (due to his endorsement of Sultan ibn Saud)”, a “Kashmiri”; a “pro-Ahmadi”; “a Wahabi”; “an enemy of Tasawwaf (Sufism). In short, some 14 points highlighting the absence of character in Allama Iqbal, which included the accusation of his being a wine-addict, a murderer of a Tawaif, a man with three wives, etc appeared on the walls of Lahore. This was too much for Allama Iqbal. But he was made to believe that it was a part of politics.

Some one must have leveled these kind of charges against him out of envy/jealousy,to discredit him?
