Default Books for pa

Dear!

Best combination would be

Trek to Pakistan by Ahmad Saeed

and

Struggle for Pakistan by I.H Qureshi

These are concise and comprehensive books for a good preparation.

Regards,

If you want to remain to the point atleast visit the book shop and see the contents of the Book Indo-pak history by Jahangir Cram serious. Just visit and read the contents that decide yourself.

Always go for post-1947 Q,s in P.A. paper. Such Q,s yield u better marks than pre-1947 Q,s.

So for just having a glance on topics of pre-1947, 'Trek to Pak' wl serve the purpose.

For post-1947 era, read books on: (Authors may be of ur choice)

foreign policy of Pak
economic issues in Pak
contemporary affairs
topics like geostategic significance, security concerns, n other hot issues.

I have no idea what will be the result of mine for CE-2012, but the thing which i extract from this examination is that its an examination of common sense not a bookish exam. So i think irrelevant and too much study may go useless. So books not matter too much in this examination, but your analysis and your wisdom. Same is with indo pak history and pakistan affairs. This is totally my personal perception.

Default Books do matter or not

Dear Sidogar!

Quality Books do matter for CSS preparation as these help in making knowledge base of an aspirants. One can not undermine their importance. Struggle for Pakistan by I H Qureshi and Making of Pakistan by K K Aziz are an authority on Pakistan Affairs worldwide.

I accept that a student is not required to reproduce exact text of the book. What is required is a balanced opinion that can only be reproduced if one has ample knowledge base. Hope you got my point.

Regards,

@ Arslan Shaukat
Respected senior i do agree with you but overall sound knowledge and vocabulary improve with reading the newspapers and other journals regularly, but the good books that you suggested may be difficult for someone to study and he / she may not get anything from good books. Its totally versatile from person to person. it is my point of view, amendments are warmly welcome

Best combination is:

Ikram Rabbani's "Pakistan Affairs"
Daily Nawaiwaqt
Daily Dawn (Only the editorial page)

That will do it Insha Allah.
