introduction
Aligarh movement occupies a prominent position among the movements which converted the dream of a separate homeland into Pakistan.Sir Syed Ahmed Khan founder of the Pakistan was a revivalist prophet and man of prediciting analysis who helped Muslims community of subcontinent when they were the downtrodden people of society.Aligarh movement was a initiative which realised the Muslims about importance of uniting as a nation and thus worked alot to help them in regaining the lost glory and prestige.

Background
After the war of independence 1857 heavy hand of Britishers fell upon the muslims .By the efforts of hindus britishers started Muslim only responsible for the war.so some serious steps were taken against Muslims
1.Muslims properties were confiscated.
2.their jobs were withdrawn
3.all governmental and high posts were reserved for the Non Muslims
4.efforts were started to convert Muslims into christanity.

As Ashok Mehts said in her book ''THE COMMUNAL TRIANGLE''
''Not only were the Muslims economically crushed, educationally and socially their position was deliberately depressed by the government''
Analysis of Sir Syed
Sir Syed was very sad at deplorable state of Muslim.after thorughly analysing the situation,he gave some points
  • As Britisher had snatched government from Muslims so they consider them as fully reseponsible for war
  • Hindus had never been rulers so it doesn' make any difference to them that who was the ruler
  • Muslim due to their conservative attitude are facing severe economic problem.
  • Muslim should come in front learn the english language and modern techniques so that they could effectivley compete with Hindus and show their royalities toward Britishers
Aligarh Movement
Thus Sir syed decided to come forward to help Muslims and started the Aligarh Movement with following aims
1.to create mutual understanding between Britishers and Muslims
2.to persuade Muslims to learn English and modern knowledge.
3.to prevent Muslims to take part in politics of agitation
4.to present social economic and political problems of Muslims in front of government
Educational efforts of Aligarh Movement
sir syed was well aware about the fact that Muslims can't regain original position without education and modern knowledge.so the first target of Aligarh movement was education.
for this purpose Sir Syed
1.established a school at Muradabad where english and persian was taught
2.established another school at ghazipur in 1863
3.setup scientific society which translate english work into urdu and published it so that muslims could easily study them.
4.in 1869 he went to England where he analysed the educational setup of oxford and cambridge and impressed by it.
5.He established M.A.O school in which soon upgraded into college.
Environment of Aligarh college
Aligarh college was proved to be such institute which finally perpared educated and qualified Muslims who were able to compete with Britishers and Hindus in every field.environment of aligarh college produced such intellectuals,[LIST][*]Aligarh college was a residential campus where Muslims and Non Muslims study together.[*]Emphasis was given to the modern education.By studying and staying with
Britishers and Non Muslim got opportunity to learn about new knowledges techniques and broadened their vision.
  • At Aligarh college, many societies similar to cambrige and oxford were setup.in these societies regularly debates, speeches and essay wirting contests were held among students.
[SIZE="3"]Political efforts of Aligarh college
By making Muslims to focus on education the next step was to help them in political side.for this purpose sir syed [LIST][*]first of all advised Muslims to not to take part in politics as they were lagging in education so they can't compete Britishers and Hindus[*]secondly sir syed criticised the Indian National congress as it was only working for the Hindus[*]sir syed wrote Risala Asbab baghawar hind in which he mentioned reasons of war of independence
1.Non representation of Muslims and Hindus in legislative council
2.Mismanagement of Indian army
3.many other ill measures of government toward indians
  • sir syed formed British indian association at Aligarh to put forward the problems of Indians to government
Religious efforts of the Aligarh Movement
Sir syed was a lover of islam. He wrote many books like
Khutbat e Ahmadya on life of Hazrat Muhammad.this was an answer to the objections made by a non muslim in book ''LIFE of MUHAMMADANS''
TABYAN UL KALAM in this book he mentioned the similarties between islam and christian.
Social services
Aligarh movement had great impact on the social life of Muslims.it helped them to change their conservative and rigid attitude. further sir syed wrote two books named''TEHZEEB UL IKHLAQ & AHKAM TAAM -E-IHLE KITAB.The ethical aspects of Muslim lives and dinning manners were discussed in it respectively.
conclusion
whenever Pakistan movement is discussed Aligarh movement is the heart of this movement.because without Aligarh movement Muslims wouldn't able to recognise their deficiencies.they might even continue to live with their conservative attitude which would lead to a perpetual slavery of either Britisher or Hindus. Aligarh movement told them that they need to get education first of all to understand what basically happening with them and then by equipping themselves with modern education they would be able to fight for their rights and ultimately got a separate homeland where they can live freely.

dear it is quite pertinent for you people that you must analyse negative points of Aligarh movement here are some negative points of this movement.

1. Dampened and suppressed jehadi spirit.

2. educational objectives remained unfulfilled , he failed to translate his vision into reality as aligarh never achieved the vision of him.

3.limitations of his philosophy of cooperation ( i. h qureshi opines that aligarh movement was meant for short term objectives and it ignored long term objectives.

4.uncritical acceptance of western values couldn't provide firm foundation for nationhood.

5. slavish mentality, he produced a generation that was loyal to British.

6. aligarh movement failed to sow the seed of anti imperialist attitude,,,,,,,,

Introduction:
After the failure of the war of Independence the Muslims had to face server problems i.e. social, economical and political. On the one hand, the Hindus were getting contemporary education and superior posts and on the other hand, the Muslims were being ignored by the British regime in all spheres. Besides, the Muslims did not pay attention to get Modern English education due to a foreign language and the Ulemas proclaimed that it was not necessary for them to go further with it. Therefore, It was the need of a revolutionary practical step to change the Muslims' wrong assuming. However, the Muslims lost their glory and prestige and a disease of illiteracy in the Muslims’ body had been very awful. Therefore, it was extremely necessary to inject a new life in the body of the Muslim nation in order to proceed for the glorification of Islam. Eventually, with the grace of God Alighar Movement injected a new life in the body of the Muslims nation and helped to regain of their lost glory and prestige by Sir Sayed Ahmed Khan.

Sir Sayed Ahmed Khan was a great scholar, thinker, who not only got his education in Arabic, Persian and Medicine but also he was an outstanding writer and a number of his books were published in diverse prominent circumstances. However, he had good relations with Asdullah Ghalib who insisted him by writing a letter to take considerable steps for the education of the Muslim society. Earlier, he did not have crystal clear idea for the said element. Therefore, he took snail pace after the establishment of the institution at Muradabad in 1859. Later on, he also started an institute at Ghazipur in 1863 in order to get Muslims educated for the renaissance of Islam. Moreover, he also appreciated the non-Muslim candidates in his institutions because his aim was to purify the society and get rid of British regime. Afterwards, in 1864 he established a Scientific Society at Gazaipur, in this society the prime goal was to get the Contemporary knowledge translated into Persian and Urdu languages as the people could understand them accordingly. In these circumstances, some Ulemas who were discouraging the masses for not to go further with the said education system. In this regard, Sir Sayed took an outstanding pace and wrote Anjuman-i-Taraqi-I Musalmanan-i-Hind in 1870. In this eminent work he made synopsis crystal clear that the Muslims would have to get modern education for their own interest.

Afterwards, an outstanding contribution was done by him in establishing Muhammad Anlgo Oriental College. In this project, he had to beg funds from many sources and raised committee on May 24, 1874. This baby institute got the status of a college in 1877 and also established the education system on the basis of Oxford and Cambridge University. Moreover, in the future that institute would have been a University in 1920 and Sayed's dream became really fulfilled.

However, for the glorification Islamic society, Sir Sayed Ahmed Khan had been guiding the Muslims and also urged them not to take part in political affairs until they would have been educated in order to compete the Hindus in political battlefield. Moreover, he wrote a piece of work 'Risala-i-Asbab-Baghawat-i-Hind for the political betterment in such scenario when he wanted to envisioned the need of that. Religiously, he told the Muslims to be refrain from doing immoral activities and he also pointed out some amazing things as to bear of Holy book towards the British regime in order to let them knew that the Muslims were not responsible for the War of Independence alone. As a result, Hindus tried their best but the intention of Sayed's were pure and strong who prevented the their every negative political action exclusively. Furthermore, socially Muslims were being invalid in immoral activities. Therefore, Sayed wrote a book named Tahzib ul Akhlaq and criticized the conservative way of life of the Muslims in diverse direction and advised them to adopt new trend of life and getting in touch with the contemporary affairs.

He not only protected the Muslims from such miserable domain but also saved the Urdu from the demolition during the Hindi-Urdu controversy. Moreover, after such incidents, Sir Sayed Ahmed Khan consulted Mirza Ghalib who was an eminent poet who had given crystal clear idea as to the Hindus and Muslims’ thinking and their tradition and he also had many meetings with the Shakespeare in order to tackle these problems. Therefore, after conclusion he became the pioneer of the Two Nation theory. He was the first person who practically proclaimed the Two-Nation theory exclusively, which became the basis of Pakistan.

Conclusion:
To the conclude, Aligharh Movement injected a new life in the body of Muslim nation and helped to regain lost glory and prestige. As a matter of fact he uplifted the education system of the Muslims, the Muslims became able to be aware of the rigid attitudes owing to his terrible contributions, he injected moral activities, his two-nation theory has an outstanding importance in the history of Indo-Pakistan. Sir Sayed was very soft minded and preferred to spend his simple rather than comfort. He was the person who got the title of 'Sir' by saving many British families and also was affored an expensive piece of land but he refused to get it. However, he did not want to share his capabilities and potentials before the society owing to his broad minded thinking. In his last days he wrote and explained his emotions:

Agar Zamane ki zaroorat mujko majboor na karti, To me Kabhi in Khayalaat ko Zahir na karta Balke likh kar lohe ki sandooko me band karjata, or ye likh jata ke jab tak esa zamana na ae isko koi khol kar na dekhe.

All the active members are requested to criticize my attempt and may pointed out my mistakes.........Pearsly where are you dear! please take part in this exercise, especially I request you to check my attempt and also alikhoso ,shakeel, shahreena, fassi and other members are highly need in this regard........

Thanks...

Sara....
Your overall attempt is praiseworthy, but you skipped many things. You did not focus much upon Sir Syed's social contributions. And in describing his political guidance to Muslims you did not mention that he earnestly prevented his people not to take part in Congress activities. Your explanation in regard to how he made the minds of Muslims to cooperate with britishers and the reason behind his this policy is also not clear. There is some need for improvement in your conclusion. Some grammatical mistakes are also there. Well, despite these all things you are going extraordinary, because you have a passion to do something worthy and I believe that your this mindset will take you to the peaks of glory. I will just say that don't give it up, just carry on, you will achieve one day what you are longing for, Insha'Allah. You are incredibly improving your skills. I am going to give you: 12/15. Best of luck

First of all, you are welcome for contributing your first attempt here in this thread. You have done a good work. Your writing is simple and you tried to write the topic 'to the point'. nice effort. I shall advise you to write the things in detail. Indeed, you have given good facts and figures in support of your answer, but you did not work well in explaining those facts. Overall is a good effort, just keep it up. I am giving you 13/20..
