It is very vague and lacks coherence and sequence. He starts talking of year 1963 and goes on to explain the events happened till 1980 and all of sudden next para starts from 1950 and the worst part is, u dont even realise that he is talking of 1950 until u start to get really confused at th relation of above paras with the para u reading.
It leaves many issues unexplained. For example, many a times u wud read him mentioning that "because of such and such a thing such, many problems arose." but he wont mention What problems. To give another example, he would mention an event, without explaining the relation of that event with the topic or point he making. This confuses the reader a lot.
The thing which irritates me the most is the lack of conherence and unity, especially when he is discussing some issue. One had to do a lot of hardwork to make connections between what he saying and said in previous paras and to find a proper sequence.

This book is wasting a lot of my time in doing the above things i mentioned. Please can someone recommend me a great book (which is not vague, consists of coherence and unity in writing) on POST PAK ERA?

Ikram's book is not a bad choice as far as first few chapters are concerned. Prepare Pak Affairs through following sources:

1. Ikram Rabbani (only first 4 or 5 chapters till 1906. Don't read after that)
2. Struggle for Pakistan by IH Qureshi (Covers the pre-partition period. A very good book to quote in exam)
3. Hamid Yousaf (A very concise book for post partition period)
4. Current Affairs

there might be mistakes in that book , but ikram rabbani is a competent person. he has done good work . We can't throw off his book just of few mistakes. struggle for pak is not comprehensive. every book has some issue as it is written by humans

yes i have Athar Ismail (PSP) notes.. Although there are many mistakes, and excerpts have been taken from Ikram Rabbani's book.. But no doubt, the topics discussed in the folder seem important from PAK AFFAIR's point of view

some excerpts taken from rabbani's book are some useful lines from rabbani's book but we are analysing about the book not for athar ismail's notes.these are very authentic and useful notes for all.

Thanku bro. Im reading imtiaz shahid pak affairs book these days and really enjoying. Love the vocabulary, the coherence and relevance to css pak affairs as well as current affairs syllabus. Also dr. Fahad mumtaz the topper of 2011 recommended it to me. He is my mother's student (english) and i know him from childhood.
