Well its not necessary to read the recommended books only, you can prepare from any book which you deem fit for the preparation. You can refer internet as well.

Check its contents if it covers all the syllabus then it might be sufficient otherwise you can also read:

Advanced Pakistan Affairs by Imtiaz Shahid its comrehensive one book that is sufficient for the Pakistan Affairs paper.

Yes it is, a part of Pakistan Affairs paper in the examination is asked from the contemporary affairs, hence dawn provides you the basic knowledge of the issues, views of different experts and analysts and related vocabulary as well hence better to make the habit of reading dawn.

The Aspirants are advised to watch Geomentaries relating to history of Pakistan.
These will be immensely helpful.
Secondly, the Books of Dr. Ayesha Jalal are good for empirical analysis.
Anybody interested to discuss anything regarding Pakistan Affairs may contact me through my profile.
Best of luck.
