Default A query regarding Sir Muhammad Shafi
I have a query regarding Sir Muhammad Shafi of All India Mulsim League. Sir Muhammad Shafi was one of founding members of the All-India Muslim League, and founder and leader of the Punjab Provincial Muslim League. But what is confusing to me is that why Sir Muhammad Shafi opposed to Delhi Muslim Proposal, March, 1927 while a consensus by both the Hindus and Muslims was agreed upon. My second query is that why Sir Muhammad Shafi supported Simon Commission, November, 1927 while it was opposed anthisuastically across the Indian Sub-Continent?

Sir Muhammad Shafi opposed Delhi Suggestions as Jinnah has renounced the right of separate electorate in Delhi Suggestions.Sir Shafi knew that Congress was a Hindu body and they would only present one demand after the other.And Sir Shafi's analysis was proved when highly prejudicial Nehru Report came to surface.
Sir Shafi believed that cooperation with Simon Commission will offer a chance to safeguard the Muslim's interests.Besides Shafi League,National Liberals,Swarajya Party and Anglo Indians also cooperated with SC.
