The Darul Uloom Deoband was established under a shady tree of an open corutyard in the old mosque of Chatta at Deoband on May 30,1866. (Ahmad Saeed, Trek to Pakistan, page 329)

D.ul.Deoband was started at Deoband, a small town of Saharanpur. It began functioning on 14th Apri,1866 in a small mosque. (Ikram Rabbani, Pakistan Affairs, page 35)

I remeber the date being 15th April from some other source. I dont remember the source.

According to Ahmad Saeed, Nadwatul Ulama was founded by Molana Muhammad Ali Mungeri (page 334).
Rabbani says, Molvi Abdul Ghafoor, Deputy Collector is said to be its earliest founder (page 39).

Islam, however, does not prohibit the charging of a nominal rent on the lending money which has been described as "Interest" (Ikram Rabbani, Pakistan Affairs, page 431, second column)
What does this statement mean? Charging money against money,regardless of amount, is Interest and is Haram in Islam.

Can somebody make them clear please?

According to wikipedia encyclopedia, Dar ul Uloom Deoband was established on 21th May,1866.
Many of the books available in market has contradictory dates published within. So it leaves a student in perplexing situation.

I think for us it is important to remember the years of the establishment of any institute or any event, remembring the month would be more than enough. And I hope that in CSS the paper setter would avoid asking the particular date, as they differ from source to source.

About the founder of Nadwa, What I comprehended is that Molvi Abdul Gaffor Deputy Collector would be the main person behind this scheme, he might have given the idea of establishing it. But real founders were M. Ali Mongeri, Ashraf ali thanvi, Mahmud ul Hasan (by summing different resources).

Regarding the statement of Rabbani, if it is so as you have mentioned it is a wrong concept. Extra money, whatelse one may call it, rent, mark up, interest, It is strictly prohibbited in Islam and is against the teachings and traditions of the Prophet S.A.W.W. And it is what the Quran has called Riba. one cannot rent his money, but one can lend without any monetary consideration. Yes, if the borrower on paying back the amount gives a gift to the lender without any prior demand from him, It is permissible. Hope I made it clear.

Indeed it is wrong, i dont understand why would some one like Rabbani say that.
Dont you think dates hold importance when it comes to MCQs?

Dear you will find the difference of dates very occasionaly. Even the date of Birth of our Holy Prophet S.A.W.W is different in different history books. And interestingly you will even see the difference of years in many reference books. So, I only made my observation that in these kind of cases where dates are disputed among the sources, Paper setter would avoid it asking in the MCQ's. It is merely my wild opinion. Best of luck
