Downfall of Muslim society
Number of times this questions came in past papers that what were the factors or causes for the downfall of Muslim society in the subcontinent. I'm in dilemma that whether to write downfall of Mughal empire in this question or what? Because the question demands downfall in 18th century and downfall of Mughal empire was also happened in 18th century. Kindly pay heed toward this question. gratitude

As far as my opinion i think it would start from brief summary and strong facts of downfall of Muslims Society collectively. If 18 century is mentioned then last phase of Mughal Empire will be included and onward . I will examine it further

hi
Decline of Muslim Society can be summarized as following: --Political Reasons--- unstable successive governments right from Sultanate-e-Delhi to last stints of Mughal Empire [a few exceptions; Iltumish, Balban, Akbar etc.]: no law of primogeniture but survival of the fittest: continuous state of war within Empire --Administrative deficiency--incoherent centralized admin machinery vis-a-vis provincial and state dichotomies --Incongruent relation between State and Society --Societal Values being obscured by ignorance --Rising interests of Foreign Nations/External Threats --Insufficient scientific and cultural progress --Religious zealous turned inharmonious; the efforts of Sheikh Sirhindi and Shah Waliullah --Economy stagnated; living conditions of general masses--thanks to architectural monuments, depriving state and society from resources Last edited by qasimahmadilyas; Tuesday, September 09, 2014 at 11:06 PM. The basic theme of this question is the Muslim Downfall in the 18th Century Subcontinent. This downfall manifested in many forms and could be summarized as below: (1) Political Downfall (2) Economic Downfall (3) Social Downfall You can plug in the information under these categories. Furthermore, please note that for the people of Pakistan (in particular) the term Muslim (along with Subcontinent) mostly denotes the era when there was Muslim nobility running the show. So don't get confused with Muslim Downfall. It does indeed mean the Mughal Downfall because many a times we across terms like "Muslim Architecture" etc. which we usually associate with the real estate projects undertaken by the Muslim rulers of the Subcontinent. P.S: If you understand this basic point [Muslim Executive = Muslim Ruler = It is Muslim Civilization/Culture etc.] then it will be very easy for you to understand why there was ever a need for Pakistan.

Nothing irrelevancy. I am highly credible for my knowledge. They are just points for those who always ponder to cram books (esp. from outdated text books). By the way, these all things are irrelevant to Pakistani Students, for them knowledge is about exam and rot learning. I think these points do make sense if you have extensive expertise in history. Otherwise, it not compelling for anyone to undertake points for granted. Shah Waliullah's and Sirhindi's efforts were for Muslim society. Had the rulers and general masses followed their teachings in the years to come, there would be no such questions in history about the Decline of Muslim Society in Sub-Continent. |

Bro you focusing on 18th century, ignoring other thing. Look. If you read original outlines, you get what I mean. Teachings of scholars like Thani's and Shah's If were followed, the decline of muslims would be out of question. 18th or 19th's decline was just outcome of why Muslim generally became obscured. The biggest problem of history opting students is that they think it is such obnoxious subject. If you write convincingly in just 2-4 pages, you deserve good marks. Please do not make arguments about dates and figures, they are just like recording of years.
