Post Kashmir was main cause of 1965 battle

The Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 was a culmination of skirmishes that took place between April 1965 and September 1965 between Pakistan and India.

This conflict became known as the Second Kashmir War and was fought by India and Pakistan over the disputed region of Kashmir, the first having been fought in 1947. The war began following Pakistan's Operation Gibraltar, which was designed to infiltrate forces into Jammu and Kashmir to precipitate an insurgency against rule by India. The five-month war caused thousands of casualties on both sides. It ended in a United Nations (UN) mandated ceasefire and the subsequent issuance of the Tashkent Declaration.

Much of the war was fought by the countries' land forces in Kashmir and along the International Border between India and Pakistan. This war saw the largest amassing of troops in Kashmir since the Partition of British India in 1947, a number that was overshadowed only during the 2001–2002 military standoff between India and Pakistan. Most of the battles were fought by opposing infantry and armoured units, with substantial backing from air forces, and naval operations. Many details of this war, like those of other Indo-Pakistani Wars, remain unclear

There are a lot of Problems between Pakistan and India Like Kashmir, water, Line OF control. Siachen. and Hindu-Muslim conflict. but India is responsible for these war because they thought that india is a big country. their population is More thn Pakistan as well as geographically india is bigger thn Pakistan therefore they take initiative in this case. they always try to destabilize pakistan in every field.

Go for book. Why nations go to war?by johng joesttinger. It is one of the books that relates to the most controversial essay topic of this year. Great nations win without fighting..
Reasons for all above wars and other major wars of 20th century are mentioned in it. Recommended for css exam..

Don't write it in CSS paper. It would be a blunder.
Also, it is not the whole story too. It is controversial topic though.

Examiner also knows the reality so he won't ask such questions like who started war.
Moreover even if it comes in exam then I am also bound to give the reasons why Pakistan acted first in these wars.
I just gave simple answer to what was asked by the thread starter. Acting first in war doesn't mean that the party concerned is wrong.
