I'm confused between wren and martin and raymond murphy. Some people say that wren and martin is old and its english is obsolete. While others say that it is the best book for competitive exams. Fpsc also recommended raymond murphy but I'm reluctant to choose that. Because it may not be too simple to tackle the competitive exam.

Then go for Wren and Martin book. You'll find all relevant material in one book ie grammar, sentence analysis, correct usage of English and written composition. Further, it has precisely written, no irrelevant details.

Grammar is more or less same in every book. Difference lies in the rules covered and method of explaining things.
You can use any book you want, as long as it is easy and helps you improve.
Chugtai's books is 100% copy paste. Good thing is that he also has pasted vocab, pair of words, idioms etc. So its a complete package fro css. It's also available in soft copy. But, so is Wren and martin

I doubt a whole language can be summarized in a book. I like to learn by watching movies and internet search.

Grammar is for to understand the basics and rules of any language. To master any language one has to practice a lot. Reading, listening and writing play their role to utilise and understand those rules.

Brother article on freedom of speech is quit good as far content is concerned but there is always an option for betterment. I had noticed that the usage of i woud say, i wont say or i am is not appropriate, instead of these phrases you can describe the your point in different way like: We do live in different countries but share the same world and being a human we follow different religions; we must respect eachothers faith.

Using the same kind of phrases again and again is annoying for the examiner.

Thank you for your kind advise... Much appreciated. I am a beginner, it's was a quick response towards the blasphemous attitude of the President of France.

" If democracy couldn't function on a continuous basis, the authoritarian and military rule didn't get accepted as a normal or legitimate political system." I am confused in this statement. If someone senior who can help me? Is this sentence is correct?
