CSS is all about expecting the unexpected.

Chairman is retiring on November 15th, so he wanted results to be announced on the same date. That was the expected deadline, according to AG responsible. However, things are out of hand presently at FPSC, thus the said date is scratched. Next expectancy is last week of November or first week of December but still not finalized.

Or so I have heard

Is there any information on who will be the next Chairperson FPSC ? So if the present Chairperson retires and the result is not announced then do they have to wait for next Chairperson to take charge or result can be announced without a permanent Chairperson ?

CSS22, first attempt and really hope to get through iA. Almost all papers went well, Essay (expecting atleast 42, wrote almost 2500 words, proper intro, body para's and conclusion), Precis: 45+ , CA:50+, PA 50+ GSA 60+, Isl:50+. Optionals > IR, sociology, env science and Physics. IR went well too although this time it was more like CA, but definitely linked theories with current scenario in P2. env sc was a surprise, very unconventional paper where one totally had to rely on on-spot knowledge and structuring of answers on basis of that. Sociology was also same, had to produce original ideas and headings in relevance to the given theorists and perspectives. The hardestt to crack was Physics, prepared alot for it but FPSC had surprise in store for us. Paper 1 was a shock. All questions were from syllabus of paper 2 ,that too very analytical. Never saw them in past papers. Paper 2 was just slightly better but didn't help much. For sure Physics was targeted this year. Targeting science optionals like this is so unfair, makes candidates suffer across the board due to just one subj, that too which is opted by v less candidates and there is no use filtering them out. Hoping for the best result iA

I attempted “how is terrorism and its perception shaped by mass media”
I cant recall the exact points …but I can tell the plot which I took from “21 lessons for the 21st century”…by “Yuval Noah Harari”….I started from a fact which I took from this book…(can’t recall the exact figures now)…that annually around 12.5 million people are killed in road accidents, almost 8 million people die from Diabetes and only 15000 people are killed in terror acts but still people do not fear cars in their homes and sugar in their kitchens..people are afraid of terrorism…etc…these were my starting lines…
Next I gave an example which I also took from the same book that, “ suppose a fly wants to destroy a China shop, it can’t do it alone..so it finds a bull, get into its nose, buzz into its brain, and directs the angry bull into the shop…this bull then serves the cause of the fly by destroying the whole shop…terrorists are the fly and the bull is basically the perception of terrorism created by the mass media…
the main point was “how” this perception is shaped… so they shape this negative perception through repetition, propaganda, creating content on social media, electronic media and all that…because people now view the world through screens so they believe what is being iterated on every forum…
my outline basically contained these main headings
Intro
Terrorism and its perception
How this perception is shaped by mass media
Positive and negative effects of this perception
Way forward
Conclusion…
I wrote total 16 subheadings…around 2500 words…

Same. Imagine a situation that all your 10 papers went well. And on the last paper day of physics, you heart breaks. Many people in our hall stood and told invigilator that paper ia Beyond solvable. The invigilator was kind enough to call fellow invigilators and fpsc and said har hall men yehi manzar hai apko yeh hi paper krna hoga. The paper was made as if to deliberately fail. Even ppl with MS physics were cursing fpsc after paper.

I would strongly discourage taking it as a optional from now onwards because of the changed nature of scientific exams. Same was the case with chemistry
