Question about visually impaired candidate’s preferences:

These days I am hearing a lot about a female candidate who has got 6th position in CSS. This is indeed moral boosting news. Today just a while ago I saw her on TV as well, she is getting so much publicity, but when I heard that she wants to join foreign services I was shocked, when I submitted my form this January I read about the eligibility criteria and one of the rules stated this:
Rule 18 (ii) Disabled candidates in the categories of physically impaired, hearing/speech impaired (deaf & dumb) and visually impaired (blind) are allowed to compete for Competitive Examination against four Occupational Groups/ Services viz: (a) Commerce & Trade Group (b) Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service (c) Information Group & (d) Postal Group

According to this she cannot have foreign services but the way she is saying it on TV and FPSC is not saying anything about it,I want to ask all the seniors ,

Q. 1 would she get foreign services even if the rules don’t allow it?

Q2. If she cant then why is she saying so, if she is saying so then she must have told her preference to FPSC people when they took her interview, why didn’t they tell her or stop her?

Q3. If she would get foreign services (even though the rules don’t allow it) then would that not effect lives of so many people who would not get good groups because she would occupy a seat?

I would like the seniors to comment on this and guide us juniors. thx

P.S ( I have great respect for this lady, the reason of posting this topic is that few of the qualifiers have raised this concern (more then 10 aspirants) who are either going to be directly * effected or indirectly being effected(all qualifiers) as allocations are being delayed because of this issue). A serious debate is needed as on one side its the hopes and dreams of a very talented fellow qualifier and on the other hand its the future of many aspirants.

*for those who cant understand how some people would be directly effected.
Example:
For instance there are 10 seats of FSP the one who is on 10th is in danger zone, as he/she might not get FSP, then he/she would land in the 2nd preference, lets say customs, because of his landing into custom, the one who is on the last of customs merit would not get customs and fall in lower department, and this chain would continue....)

Hi Sibtain,
Dont panic bro.First rules will nt be amended for an individual. Second if they are , I dont think it wud be injustice to anyone.Saima does deserve an appointment of her choice. After all she has done a great job getting the 6th position despite being physically impaired. And i pray to God she is blessed wid what she deserves despite I and many of my friends may be affected too.

After clearing the exam, she personally met the President and requested for the desired post. Her outstanding achievements were acknowledged and highly appreciated. Thus, her wish was granted.

President who? President of Pakistan? If this is the case, then why so much fuss about it, like setting up a medical board and then the decision pending with FPSC? Why don't they just give her what she asked for and settle the issue down.

Waisay all what is happening suggests otherwise. I'm sure she got it through her own capabilities rather than on the whim of someone.

If what Last Island has said is true then its great, I think its great if someone gets what that person wants if the person is up to the mark. She proved her self worthy for the post, if she has come this far am sure she would coup with the difficulties of the job.

I wish her best of luck for future. And i wish this issue is resolved soon, all of us qualifiers are so tense coz of the delay in allocations,

@Pardada bro

I second you in this regard.....

and about the question "president who??" bhai same one who issued the release of Kashmir Singh .....
