Yes the condition is very much still there and the probationers of Customs and Excise and Income Tax group would have to go to IBA for their 1 year MBA in Tax Management. The only way to evade this eventuality would be to improve one's group in 2010 or 2011 .
Regards

INLAND REVENUE SERVICES (IRS)
Any news about INLAND REVENUE SERVICES, Some news are signalling that once again IRS notification about to be announsed in August and notification will be implmented in September. Shaukat Tareen (Finance Advisior) held a meeting with IMF and World Bank Officials this month at Istanbul and IMF & World Bank officials categorically denied to give third installment (850m$ of 7.6b$) of their approved loan for Pakistani Economy and put certain conditions. One amongst them was that there should be only two departments in FBR, one is INLAND REVENUE SERVICES and other one CUSTOMS only. Shaukat Tareen has confirmed that before IMF and World Bank teams arrival at Pakistan in September, he will certainly implement all their conditions.

@Adnan Shahid
The information which you have divulged is true but according to the latest settlement reached between the FBR and the Customs and Excise group IRS would not be headed by one member ( Originally it was to be headed by one member, as Member IRS and that too from Income Tax group ) but by two or may be three members such as Member Excise ( from Customs group ) Member Direct Tax etc. Therefore i do not think that Customs and Excise group would easily let go Sales Tax and Federal Excise which contributes more than 50% to our national Tax collection. Now it might be possible for Income Tax officers to be posted as Ac Sales Tax and above but the head of the department would be from Customs.
