prepare outlines of all syllabus so u go through it within few hours,no time to revise whole book or notes
don't trust anyone in exams
stay focused
give one paper and move to next, forget about the paper after u come out of hall
don't ever advise anyone in exam hall
don't help anyone
utilize your time completely
read question repeatedly so you get right idea and many ideas come to your mind.i used to read question3-4 times before attempting and read between writing questions. it avoids diversion from question
do check all question numbers ,roll number and most important tie the sheets with main sheet before time(in CA paper i did not tie it in time and i had to request the incharge for 15 minutes to tie sheets )
don't lose nerves, whats done is done move on

Besides all the things which have been mentioned by senior members, i learnt one thing...
Always fill ur fountain pen with ink before the exam starts..
I planed to do it every time n i always forgot.. And at last, i dropped a drop of ink on my answer sheet in international relations paper :'(

The most important lesson i got from this year's exam was that one must not compromise on sleep during exam days. One should not study much during exam days, rather one must sleep well, and relax.

well the most amusing thing i found in exams that there was a girl sitting besides me ,,,after every 20 mints she asked for sheet with loud voice making everyone disturbed ....and when i looked at her answer sheet in order to know what is cause that she ask for so many sheets and the thing i discovered was very funny ....just writing 5-6 lines in every page and the distance between the words was almost 1-2 inches ,,,her paper was just like an advertisement board you read it form 20-30 feet distance........

there was an examiner in my hall ( guy who was on duty to keep check on us )...he was having a china mobile with him ...you know the sound of china mobile is very loud....and he never put that mobile on silent ...whenever calls or mesgs came on that mobile it made all of us so much disturbed that one of the girl screamed ( will you plz shut it off its eating my brain )

Yes Exactly , I have noticed this as well , most people were asking for sheets and sheets and as I checked they were quite relaxed in writing . They had just written 5-6 lines on 1 single page and about 4-5 words max in one line (or special cases scenario , 7 words max !)
And do u get arrest if u r caught using improper means ?

CSS examinations- a great experience.
First you get to learn so much about your own self, your own tendency, your aptitude and also your weaknesses.

Starting from the exam anxiety, I suggest please don't listen to anyone before or after your paper, every one is sharing their own experience and that might shatter your confidence. Believe in yourself.

If you have no writing practice on blank sheets, grab some normal plain pages and do practice on them before hand. Else you are definitely going to mess up your paper. There was this teacher of mine in my MBA who used to ask us to submit our weekly short assignments "Hand written" and on "A4 sheets" (plain printing papers), so it really helped me in CSS exams

Always make sure that your paper is really presentable, use blue, black markers and pointers. Like there was this guy sitting beside me in sociology paper, he was eating sheets literally and he was attempting the paper with only a blue pen. Also the writing was like as if the words are flying. Logically thinking paper should be attempted in a way so that you make it easy for examiner to check and evaluate you. (keeping in mind he has thousands of papers to check)

Also go through question paper twice, thrice or even more. stick to what is actually asked in the paper, else it would be really hard to wrap the answer. And more importantly divide your time for each question. Else last questions suffer a lot.

1 thing that really helped me in papers was that, i used to write a rough outline of each question on the last page. Then it was really easy for me to attempt my questions easily.

And everyone please, now is the time you read more and more newspapers, research studies etc. Because FPSC has changed the paper pattern for most of the subjects, every other paper seemed like the test of your current Affairs knowledge.

Default Salam to You all

I just read this thread and one point i really found quite bizzar that pertains to sharing MCQs answers during the course of papers.

My friend from Lahore told me that such evil practice was noticed at lahore centre too. But, this is not the case with all centres i must say.

This negative activity of sharing MCQs answers is usually caused due to one factor and that is " large number of candidates" who are difficult to be supervised properly.

But FPSC is not to be blamed for it. FPSC is a neutral and vibrant body. it is candidates who deviate from the rules and cause frustrations for honest and deserving candidates.

Remember if a person cant solve MCQs on his/her own and indulge in negative acitivity of cheating, how can he/she pass the rest of the paper that constitute 80 % of the paper.

My centre in CSS exam 2009 was Larkana. Ambience there was very disciplaned and organised. none could see behind. I appreciate this.

My good wishes are with all of you.
