Default Why 2010 candidates secured unbelievable low marks in optionals?

i invite the attention of those members who have scored very low marks, to unbelievable degree, in various subjects. To my knowledge, journalism, sociology, history of indopak, accounting and auditing and some other subjects have brought highly unexpected results.I secured 36 marks in journalism ,though 17 of my MCQs were correct and i attempted all the four question that were general in nature. Many others have shared the same fate in other subjects as well.an any body tell that what are reasons behind it?

i totally agree with what you said.Same thing happend with me in journalism, as i got 27 marks and am still shocked coz i attempted all the questions (in ma opinion quiet well) coz the paper of journalism was so easy and even the objectives, but most of the students are failed in journalism...as far as i think is they did reallly strict marking because they have made that paper reallly halwa sort ov.

I correct 19 MCQ's in Journalism and i just got 44 marks. I drew charts, flow charts, circles, lots of example etc.

In Accounting & Auditing Paper, totally unjust marks. my both papers were correct, i was expecting minimum 160. but i just got 79.

Default Why 2010 candidates have failed/secured less marks in optional subjects ?

Why 2010 CSS candidates have failed/secured less marks in subjects like Journalism and Islamic History which have remained scoring ones in past ?

Kindly anyone who has passed plz discuss the methodology that they applied ?

There might be another reason, a large no. of aspirants were running after journalism & history, and it seemed as if these were also compulsory subjects....
now trend would be changed again
another theory of scoring in optional and passing compulsory has also been reversed by FPSC

salam...

Elective study is the worse cause behind the scene.... i observed that now people switched from good books to some marketish books.. just like some exam cram series and like that.... so people consider that if they cram 20 question that it is enough and according to student point of view they are going to examination hall with full "prep", but , on the other hand nobody is fullfilling the FPSC's criteria of "conceptual study"....

Therefore, my dear fellows... if you prep 20 or 25 question than only luck can be helpfull my dear.............

The best way to get good score is to study one text-book rather than a book comprises of some elective question.....One book study is the best and scoring study in the field of CSS, but, only text-book........

Excellent answer by Tipu !!
I do believe that as well, there is no substitute of a "text book", for God's sake get rid of dogar sons kind of books and start STUDYING instead of "preparing" !! That was my key to success !
