Very interesting data, although its interpretation is quite difficult given the fact that the available seats for PSP, MLCG and PCS are relatively few as compared to DMG & IRS. What seems clear though is that PSP and DMG are now almost neck n neck, FSP is in the middle followed by PCS, IRS and MLCG again neck n neck.

Very interesting to see 2 MLCG allocations so high in the merit order. Would really like to know why these candidates have opted for MLCG so high in their preference order.

you are quite right sir...but it is quite UNEXPECTED for you as well...as you suggested to write PCS over n above IRS and PREDICTED that it,ll happen in allocations of css 2010,on this forum in thread GROUP PREFRENCES FOR CSS 2011.......but it didnt happen as i said to you...
Infact all four guys of MLCG preferred MLCG than IRS and PAAS ( like previous few years) and three guys of PAAS even opted PAAS over n above IRS........

@dr adnan rana

I don't want to enter into an endless debate with you once again and I don't think I have been proven wrong. The number of Customs seats on offer is very low to really accurately say that Customs was preferred over IRS. There were too few seats of Customs this time to make a reasonable comparison with IRS. At the time of our previous discussion on the issue, I did not expect Customs to get reduced to this status within the first year of existence of IRS. The low number of Customs seats is indicative of the fact that this cadre has commenced its decline towards oblivion. What was most interesting is that merit nos. 39, 47 and 49 preferred IRS over PSP and DMG which is unprecedented. Yes, some persons opted for PAAS over IRS but how can you so confidently say that one or two persons also did not prefer PAAS over MLCG. Although merits numbers 33 and 48 may have opted for MLCG over IRS, merit numbers 77, 78, 80, 82, 83 and 85 clearly opted for IRS over MLCG. As for PAAS, it was generally way behind IRS. Nothing is as clear cut as you are trying to portray.

Why FSP has got colourless to this extent that it secured only 6 out of top 50? Care to explain the reason please!

First of all sir i myself dont want to start a debate again but u,ve stated wrong facts n figures again this time and in the start of ur post you,ve given your analysis by which you yourself have started this debate again.
2ndly, merit no. 39,47,49 belong to KPK and their DMG,PSP,PCS n FSP seats were exhausted in 30,s.and how can one even imagin that IRS was preferred over DMG,PSP....hatts off to your analysis.
3rdly,MLCG(all seats) was preferred over PAAS like all previous years(please check previous years allocations as well) ,this year mlcg exhausted on 90 n PAAS started on 91....(again sir please check this year allocation).
4thly,your last argument carries weight to some extent that some prefferd IRS over MLCG,,......but all guys of MLCG prefrred MLCG over PAAS n IRS (like last two years)
5thly, i agree PAAS is behind IRS but i know many officers of grade 17,18 n 19 belonging to IRS,PAAS who switched over to MLCG but none of PCS ......
6thly, lesser no. of seats is not an indication that cadre is dying .i know there r some changes going on in FBR.....but still everybody knows that what advantages can be drawn from minimum no.of officers in a batch in terms of promotions n postings....
Lastly,it is clear from above facts n figures that this year again PCS was preferred even above FSP,what to speak of IRS, and IRS is to be compared n placed with n after PAAS n MLCG.
PCS 1 ...merit no. 19 (kpk pcs was third prefrence)
PCS 2....merit no. 29(kpk pcs was third prefrence)
PCS 3...merit no. 58(punjab pcs was third prefrence)
PCS 4...merit no. 74(punjab pcs was my third prefrence)

still my dear brother you are not satisfied with this please wait for next year allocation (and the year after that and so on..............)but currently and for the near future YOUR PREDICTION is never true...
NOTE...in our previous discussion you,ve applied n predicted about 2010 allocations n current trends(that proved wrong), even at that time i said that in the coming years IRS may become a good option but not now(please go back n check)

Neck to neck?????????For Punjab,DMG finishes at merit number 46 I guess, and there are 16 open merit seats of DMG in Punjab.PSP finishes at 51,and it has only 7 open merit seats in Punjab.First 2 candidates from FATA have DMG as first preference, most toppers from Baluchistan and KPK have DMG as top preference..Is this your idea of neck-to-neck????DMG clearly, very clearly leads PSP or any other group this time.Things, are back to normal now.

Dr Adnan,
Add me.Though I got my first preference DMG Alhamdulilah, but I would like to say that PCS was my third preference, above FSP and IRS.And I know a few more who had it as their 3rd preference
