Of course you are wending your way. But,while practicing english you had better focus on you other subjects.Try to write a paragraph on regular basis together with an essay of required length on every Sunday. After all its the practice, which makes one complete.
Regards

You are your own judge in deciding how much time you need to prepare a subject considering your background in th subject. As you have told that you prepare for english for 3 hours daily, I think its enough time. You don't need to do precis every day. You may do it thrice in a week and utilize this time for preparing some other thing like expansion of ideas, direct/indierct questions, sentence correction question etc. When you start your preparation in the morning, revise all those idioms, pair of words which you learnt the previous day. When you think that you have done practice enough to your satisfaction, then start reducing the 3 hour time and allocate this time to other subjects.
