Geography 2013!!! Is it dangerous to opt???

Well guys It seems that opting geography has proved to be a blunder. Folks who attempted it were totally abashed :0 and given their views full of disappointment. Now we have to reconsider our decision seriously to opt it in 2013.

I have also opted Geography

I head that Geography is the best in order to get good score.... So, i have opted this and still stik in it ... but as the matter of the fact is that i have no background in this subject .... after getting indo-pak and i.r's result, have become confuse that which subject would be best. My optionlas are Geography. US Hist, Pol Sc. Public Ad.... is this good choice .......and especially for geography may i know that is it an easy subject or complicated as far as i have decided to opt it ........

No one can predict scoring trend of any subject in a particular year. Geography has been an ever green subject most of the times but you never know which year will bring its downfall. This is true for all the subjects. So what one can do is to select subjects which have been good scoring most of the times, prepare for the worst and leave the rest to ALMIGHTY. This is where luck plays its part. Candidates opting Islamic History in CSS 2009 scored as high as 188 and the same candidates couldn't cross even 100 in CSS 2010. This brutal and unfair marking trend of FPSC is beyond comprehension. Therefore, there is no guarantee that a particular subject will be scoring in a coming year or not... However, it has been seen that subjects like Psychology, Geography, Islamic History, Arabic, Journalism, Sociology, Agriculture, Forestry, Constitutional Law, Regional Languages, US History, Public Administration and International Law etc have been scoring most of the times. So, you may go for any combination from these subjects.

I don't think Centre matters because at the end of exam your scripts are collected at a central place (FPSC Head Office) from where those are handed over to examiner(s) for marking. Examiner does not know about centre of any candidate while marking the script. However, If you are from Karachi, I would recommend you to select the same as your centre.

Not at All.. Nothing is dangerous . The thing is, you have to avoid cramming and focus on analytical studies.!
That's a best solution.
I have opted geography and paper went well Alhamdulliah.. (Without ratta)
Now FPSC is judging your knowledge not cramming and its a best move :vic
Go for it !
Good Luck :)) [/FONT]

One tough paper doesn't mean that the subject should be excluded from one's list. What happened in Geography and Jornalism were exceptions and exceptions are always there to prove the rule :) Besides, we have only seen the paper yet. I am sure the result is not going to be that bad.
