That's really strange and mysterious strategy of FPSC, those who were not sure to get 40 marks they award them and those who get excellent marks in Essay are failed in composition paper.

what is so strange about it? they are 2 different papers that test 2 different strengths of yours.

Above all, this is not the first time it is happening 2012- Precise: 73 Essay: 38 was my score.

can some one believe i got 6 marks out of 100 in essay paper

In 2012, FPSC announced that 1 grace mark will be awarded to those who are in short of one mark in any compulsory or optional subject or in aggregate.

i totally agree with you i m not saying m perfect but i know what i attempted i as the 1 who got 84 in current affairs im my 1st attempt.this time i performed far better with arab spring question i even draw accurate maps of the concerned countries 16 mcqs were correct but only get 44,rest 3 questions were also complete n well written.............m so shocked to see my dms that i m thinking for which paper i should cry for...i can never never never admit that the checking is just.....

If you want to go for re-counting you should go for it as recounting is possible even if there is only one question to be marked. I have faced this scenario once during my FSc, in a question instead of 10, only 1 mark was calculated by examiner. Go for it so that you will not jinx yourself in coming days.
But on the same time 5 marks are not amongst the impossibilities; if you have misunderstood the topic of essay examiner can do this with you. I believe I did the same mistake in my essay on "gender equality is a myth" and paid the price.
