what is the criteria for checking the essay paper ? I wanted to know who has attempted essay no 1 which many members are terming as co-education . I am passed with good marks in other subjects but got 5 in essay . It simply means that examiner has conflicting stance which made me suffer .

Kindly highlight the difference between re-checking and recounting because I want my paper to get re-checked .What would be the procedure ? Even in the most disastrous paper ; Muslim law I got 40 and in pvs year I gained 60 .

Disastrous result. I am 100% sure people will protest after knowing their marks against FPSC. This year is not easy for FPSC, FPSC you need to be ready for huge cry against you. I came to know my marks and was shocked to know. I can not disclose here as i have promised with that person who told me marks not to post marks on forum. But believe me they have destoryed every subject. No one will dare to appear in CSS 2014 or onwards after knowing the marks.

yes , they have destroyed every subject but these things could not inflict badly coz I was prepared so well . I done them good w.r.t to quality and quantity ..I got

Rule no.12 (xxii) . A candidate desirous of getting his/her marks, awarded by the examiners, recounted may submit his/her request for the purpose, within one month from the date of issue of result card/mark sheet alongwith a treasury Challan of Rs.200(for CE-2013) and Rs.500 (for CE-2014) per paper as fee for re-counting of marks only.Thereafter no such request will be entertained.

To all those people who got affected by harsh Essay scoring this year (having qualified previously).

In 2010 I scored 55 In 2012 (When Essay was comparatively simpler and easier) they failed me by 2 marks

So we can not base our current result on the previous one and compare them. Secondly in my case, both times even the Essay revolved around the same idea "Women Rights".

I guess zero or five marks are awarded when one fails to undertand the topic correctly. Or more correct to say when examiner and candidate are not on the same page . Resultantly , annoyance of checker manifests in the award of such marks .There are several reasons for it. First of all , most of the candidates never practise an essay untill exams draw near . In the final months , sub standard notes of various academies with monotonous outlines becomes the reading material of candidates . Thus memorizing that material serves as straight jacket and one's brainstorming capacity ceases to exist even on the exam day .
Phobia , being the next big reason . Many people are so sacred of the essay that word essay turn their faces pale .
Final reason which I can think of is the lack of know how of essay techniques . Most of the candidates feel satisfied after knowing the techniques of drawing a superb outline . Task of maintaining unity , coherance and organization across the essay is thing which is never taken care of .
These are the thoughts which I wanted to share from aspirants point of view . From examiers point of view , God knows better :-) :-)

I got 47 marks in essay but they failed me in comprehension by only one mark. I have 39 marks in comprehension. They could adjust that but

I may be one of those people who can appreciate what you mean to say. The same happened to me in 2012 in Essay. And throughout that time I always used to wonder "Jo yoon hota tou kia hota" Anyways don't let it put a dent in your moral. Prepare "smarter" for your next attempt and best of luck
