Dear, though I'm not among the protesters and support your argument about our education system which is totally failed in the materialization of its objectives, but let me share my experience with CSS. In CE2011, many friends qualified the exam and when I asked them about their techniques, they advised me to memorize those important questions which are repeated in the papers. Even a serving PAS personnel, stationed at our district, asked me that if you want to get through CSS, you should know something about everything and everything about something, leave those questions which take more time instead go after short and easy ones et al. Another friend, who's a senior and respectable member (He's also a PAS personnel) of this forum advised me the same thing,he said that they don't want philosophers but average people to be polished a bit for Civil Service. Your relatives might have been library lovers but they might have been over there just for the facility of silent surroundings which most of our libraries offer as libraries in our part of the world present the view of deserted and betrayed cities.

Only 238 candidates have been passed. Indeed it is a matter of serious concern. That's why we are discussing this thing here to perform well in upcoming attempt.

My brother be mature! Sorry if you took my words on heart.

As far as your suggestion is concerned my dear sweetest brother I reciprocate same to you!

Be blessed!

Thumbs down

I seconda the opinion of the respected member about deteriorating edaucational system. The quantity of education has been increased but its quality has badly been decreased. An instructor at CSA was saying that from the last 3, 4 years we are being constantly writing to fpsc that we are not getting the stuff we are looking for. They have also suggested screening test which is going to be conducted from 2015 and onwards. There are serious flaws in our edaucational system and needs a complete review right from the primary level. Musharaf has poured millions of rupees in higher education but primary level remained depreived Political interference has ruined education department. Teachers at Governemnt primary schools are recruited on pure reference.
Why to blame only schools or teachers, parents and society are equally responsible for this distruction of education.

ce 2013 papers were more analytical than last year papers, i think that was the main reason behind low scoring

i dun know about other optional papers but the accounting and auditing paper was very simple and straightforward i must say this paper has been checked by some lunatic, being a chartered accountant i got 98 marks in both papers, in fact i pointed out some fundamental mistakes in the question paper especially about mcq's and income tax question because at the end of the day students were going to be penalised for this. anyway css is not the end of life, i attempted css for the first time but i am over age now,

For this view the following comment I want to share which is in an article in The News,
Originally, 15,998 applied but 11,406 actually appeared in the written exam, however, only 172 male and 66 female candidates qualified the exam, totalling only 238. Some failed candidates on CSS Forum have posted alarming data, which has not so far been rebutted by FPSC, according to which 98 qualified candidates belongs to Lahore, 36 Islamabad, 14 Faisalabad, 15 Rawalpindi, 12 Multan, 1 Sargodha and 1 Sialkot, numbering as much as 165 from Central Punjab and only 12 from entire South Punjab. Similarly, among the qualified candidates of Sindh, 12 belong to Karachi, 2 to Larkana and 2 to Sukkhar. Only 8 qualified candidates appearing on Balochistan domicile belong to Quetta while the entire province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has only 3 lucky candidates who belong to Peshawar and Abbottabad.
In nutshell, the entire province of Sindh finds no representation in the future civil bureaucracy except 12 from Karachi while 2 each from Larkana and Sukkhar, which makes negligible impact. The entire Balochistan, except Quetta, finds no room in the slot of the future ruling elite and the same is with the KP that has 3 successful candidates belonging to Peshawar and Abbottabad.

I don't think so that all the papers got low scores except Muslim law. I got maximum marks in CE2013 papers compared to previous two attempts. I consider it a sheer Luck. Sometimes we get a blessing in disguise

In my view: the policy is now going to be that don't waste time of the passed candidates and of FPSC to manage the things for those who are not going to be part of bureaucracy. Now, the purpose of the screening test , in my view, is going to filter non-serious candidates and allow only interested ones. Ultimately, pass the candidates in accordance with the available posts i.e if there are 200 seats pass 200. The interview will be a mere assessment to allocate the passed ones in respective groups. The result will be to avoid the unnecessary litigation which is initiated by those students who object on the ground that we really went good in the interviews, but not allocated in any group.
May be i am wrong , its my own opinion.
