I know there has been an announcement that CSS 2014 exam will commence from Feb 15, but if one looks at the previous date sheets then it is quite obvious that usually the exams have started after thh 20th of February.

What do you guys say? Is there any possibility of 2014 exams commencing after the 20th?

CE-2014 exam will be held with effect from 15th Feb, 2014. FPSC would have intimated earlier if they ever wanted to conduct it after 20th Feb.

IN SHA ALLAH the exam will positively commence from the 15th of February; as such, there is no likelihood of ammendment in the commencement schedule.
Last year, I wasted much time in thinking what the datesheet would be like and when I would get my roll slip delivered. Consequently, my preparation for the exam was so inadequate that I had to drop the idea of appearing in the exam though my roll number slip was delivered right at my doorstep. Propably, in a week or so the datesheet would be announced. Please focus on your studies; put aside all other concerns.

In previous years, exam used to commence after 20th because date announced by FPSC used to be so.
This year exam will commence from 15th because date is given so.

This year is tough for FPSC for several reasons:
1. More than 24000 candidates have applied, out of them 1458 candidates are rejected. By keeping in view the past trend, we can expect out of total accepted candidates, 16000-18000 candidates will appear for CSS due to joblessness and increased level of awareness about CSS in rural and provincial interiors like Multan, Faisalabad, Gujarat, Jaccobabad, Sakkhar, Murree, Abottabad, Mardan, Zhob and likewise. This number will be the maximum that FPSC have ever received. Imagine, how the process of checking will be done
2. Faisalabad scandal has a big dent on the transparency of FPSC, new security and fool prove measures will be introduced
3. This year to screen potent candidates, FPSC is introducing a screening test on August. This requires more work and time. For this reason FPSC will have to do everything it had been doing weeks early. For this FPSC must end all exams of CSS 2014 before 1st March. This demands the CSS to he started on 15th Feb unlike previous years

This year will also remind us all that CSS has always been and is still the toughest test in the country to hire the cream. Its not a job to do for everyone. People should realise this and safe their time, effort and help in reducing the huge chunk of wanna bees who just appear for CSS to "try their luck" and then we see scandals like Faisalabad's
