But, the english teacher has been recommended by many esp friends who cleared this year and same goes for academy. But I guess depends on personal choice and ease.

I am resident of Gujrat City. Distance of Islamabad and Lahore will be equal for me. My friends who are senior than me and have experience of academies of Lahore as well as Islamabad have recommended me to join KIPS Lahore Campus. That is why it is my first option. As you are resident of Peshawar, so Islamabad is convenient for you. In Islamabad NOA is best academy. I have no information about its hostels but I am sure there will be some in immediate vicinity if there are other institutes in the surrounding area. About mobility issue. As you are going to completely focus on CSS so, my suggestion is to shift to hostel for entire academy duration no matter in which city you are going. Take all necessary things with you. I can help you with that too but on email only. So, really it does not matter if you move to any of the cities as you are really not going back at least for 4 months. The only difference will be that your parents can visit you in Islamabad anytime they want and Lahore is far for them. It does not make any difference as you will have to adjust in hostel and you cannot really ask them to visit every weekend and bring you home luxuries. I know about 1 good hostel in Islamabad. My sister's friend is living there. I do not know about its location or if it will be suitable for you or not. I already have experience of KIPS hostel so, I think I can manage that easily.

I do not do group studies but I can help others living with me by lending them my books or by teaching them specific topics. I can give suggestions via email as well. Book/notes sharing and teaching is not possible for me online since I am not going to use internet much. You can join me if it is convenient for you otherwise I will try to help as much as I can through email.

About notes yes, outlines of all topics, practice of past papers (specially last 2) and practice of English, Map and flow chart practice should be enough and it is best option in given time period.

ms Maria or Razi Abdi..??

According to my friends who are senior than me, Madam Maria is more suitable choice if she is available. I have no idea about Sir Razi Abidi. I know about Prof. Manzoor Mirza but he only checks practice and mark mistakes but he does not teach. He either provide material nor give any suggestions.

Honestly I have no idea about English teachers in Islamabad. I have information about teachers in Lahore. If English teacher is good and recommended by recently selected CSP's then you can join that teacher. NOA is best academy in Islamabad no doubt and hence this suggestion by CSP's is also right.

Sure talk to your parents and decide what is better for you as staying in hostel for at least 4 long months is really difficult. You might find Islamabad more convenient if your parents are planning to visit you every week or even every two weeks. If you are going to stay independently by taking everything you need at once and parents are not going to make frequent visits then both are equal.

I have received comparison of academies in both cities and KIPS main campus Lahore was highly recommended so, I am going there. Also, my friend told me that it is enough for English too if one is looking for evaluation and suggestions. Otherwise option of English private coaching is always open in both cities. My friend is traveling at the moment and She is going to get back to me within 3 days for suggestions regarding teachers and hostel. I will tell you details if you decides to come to Lahore.

please elaborate further about ms. Maria , teaching style, timings, location, fee structure n contact academy .

Hi there,
I am a resident of Lahore and have just begun preparing for CSS. For this purpose I have joined a very renowned academy in Lahore, popularly known as Officers Academy. However, I am very much confused with the preparation. For some of the compulsory subjects, I find that the teachers are being very specific to the topic and are not covering the topic as a whole, which worries me about the material. It's more like a few points given and then the chapter seems complete. Or in other words, it looks like as if the teachers are answering any of the past paper questions on the chapter in bullet points. For this reason, I want to have some detailed lectures on the compulsory subjects so as to have some material with me to be able to write in exam. As I sought help from FPSC's official website, they recommend tons of books which I believe I shall definitely be not able to cover before the exam. So my first question is, for each of the compulsory subject, is there any ONE book which covers the entire syllabus? Though I am a person who cannot cram and develops a conceptual understanding, I still lack material. I will soon be starting tuition for English with Sir Agha who has been recommended by many. However, I need to prepare the rest of the subjects with the help of a course book.

As for optional subjects, I have opted for Accounting and Audit, Mercantile Law, Business Administration, US History and Punjabi. Since I have an Accounting academic background, I am very much proficient in Accounting and Audit, so I would not be consulting any books. As for Mercantile Law, I can find the laws on the websites so they won't be much of a problem for me. However, I will be needing a book on Business Administration as I haven't read it before in detail as much required for CSS. Can someone recommend a good text book? Talking about Punjabi, we are recommended a book called "Agwai" by Professor Latif. Is it enough? Finally, is there any ONE book for US History?
