Following excerpt from a news item shows the effect of chairman retirement, the emergency of announcing results till last day of his tenure and halting of recruitment process without chairman.

"PPSC former chairman Lt Gen (retd) Sajjad Akram retired on September 24, 2017 on completion of his three-year tenure and the post is lying vacant since then. The recruitment process through PPSC has come to a halt after the retirement of Sajjad Akram, bringing much misery to the candidates. The last written results for various posts were announced on September 22 and the final results on September 24.

The commission has also neither conducted written tests for different posts nor advertised new posts in newspapers after Sajjad Akram completed his tenure."

Isn't there a difference between PPSC and FPSC? Plus the news is old. And I haven't seen anything on FPSC's site regarding the Chairman's retirement because I think they would issue an official notice of some sort.

ISLAMABAD: A senior bureaucrat and former manager of the national cricket team, Naveed Akram Cheema, was appointed on Tuesday the chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), a government organisation which deals with selection and promotion of civil service officers.

President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to Mr Cheema at a ceremony at the Presidency.

Members of the FPSC, secretary of the Establish*ment Division and senior officers of the President’s Secretariat attended the oath-taking ceremony which was conducted in Urdu.

Mr Cheema has replaced retired Maj-Gen Niaz Muhammad Khan Khattak. He has served on several key positions, including Punjab chief secretary. His last assignment was as the manager of Pakistan cricket team.

I have a gut feeling that the result will come out on either 28 September or 5 October.
