Brother, in moving towards pattern of developed countries shouldn't we first move toward absolute civilian supremacy and strengthened civil institutions before fragmenting civil service like this? We would be putting horse before the cart if these reforms does indeed fragment civil service withput holding holier than thou institutions to account.

And here comes the fist of ''tabdeeli'' on civil services.Few reforms such as elitism and corruption were not only expected but were need of time but radical overhaul of complete system is unfair. It looks like PTI is acting on whims of single person.
The biggest loser in these reforms will be graduates of non professional degrees.Decades of hard work and restless nights will go down the drain.Graduate of history or English does not have specialization in any field.History and language have no practical purpose in governance.MBAs,Lawyers,Engineers and Doctors would prevail over civil services. Most of the aspirants opt for social sciences when they intend to appear for competitive exams.I wish these reforms were implemented gradually.

Yeah I made this suggestion to fpsc almost two years ago. N finally they are considering it. By the way it's a good move as far as I am concerned. Well i hold two degrees 😜. Certainly Pakistan is not going to change through such tweaks. On the whole, problem lies with beaurocrates and their character, not with their knowledge and specialities, not with exam itself. I believe situation will get even worse.
